The sky is grey it's not blue
She doesn't love me like she used to
There's a cold wind blowing in these trees along the track
She doesn't love me like she used to
Today I told my darling in the fields of June
That I do not love him like I used to
Well the wind began to blow and the sky turned from blue
When I told him that I do not love him like I used to
But I burnt my hands trying for our love
And I broke my nails too
So don't accuse me now for going back on our vow
I'm gonna bury you in these fields of June
How the hell did it ever come to this?
How does she not love me like before?
I'm lonely and I'm sorry and I don't know what to do
Since she told me that she doesn't love me like she used to
Well baby I have reasons that you never listened to
As to why I do not love you like before
And you might be sorry and may not know what to do
But don't bother me for I do not love you like I used to
But I burnt my hands trying for our love
And if you go I'll break in two
So don't you leave me now, don't go back on our vow
Don't you bury me in these fields of June
She doesn't love me like she used to
There's a cold wind blowing in these trees along the track

I hear the Decemberists in here too! This song is off the beaten path... different, and not in a bad way.
I shy from the constant comparisons made by us to find the influence of one act in or on another..but this sounds like an amalgam of other bands at the moment — Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Decembrists, Mumford, Neko Case. Is that good or not so? Dunno, but I didn't get a big thrill from this, though it was mysterious. Maybe it's a 6.

Why doesn't your feet bounce to this beat?
Wow, I love the Irish feel to this one!

31 actually, but yes, very talented.
Watch out for this girl, she's only 21 years old, and I think her songwriting is exceptionally strong for her age.
If you've ever watched " Wallender," that's her singing the theme song.

Continual bickering with no resolve...ahhhh...such is real life isn't it? Have to say I enjoy this tune for it's realism.
Great song & idea. There is a little bit of an anachronism with the older style music and more contemporary expressions, e.g. 'how the hell'.
That song doesn't really work - to my ears anywhere - there's too much of a clash between the singers - it seems off-kilter. Perhaps that's intentional?
Love this song!

Whoever wrote this song didn't have anything better to do and just threw some lyrics together. Not worth the time it took to record or listen to.

Agreed.
Not a terrible song, as in "it doesn't make my ears bleed and I only lowered the volume a couple notches when it played" but far from being goo or even interesting, just a waste of 3 minutes of airplay.

Its called phrasing. Certainly different on this, but it is good to tune your head to a different key occasionally.
I find it odd the way they cram the lyrics into a space too small for them...
Overall odd and not very pleasant listening.

I just love Frank's voice. Every time I hear this on RP, I have to stop and just listen. I need to find more of his stuff!
Great to singalong.
:-D
:-D
Really surprised when I heard this song come on RP, but I was thrilled to hear it.
Love Frank Turner.

I really like this. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't normally enjoy, but there is something about this that I find compelling.

Kinda depressing but we'll give it a 7 and see where we go from there.
I agree with all the comments (sounding old tymey, sounding like artists, etc.), but I can't help bouncing along with it... Like the video too.
Love Frank Turner!

Good points. Exactly why I don't care for it. That particular genre has been played out, IMHO.

Love the violin tribute. Nice segue, as well. His voice is a little less than impressive, but the violin, accordian and female lead makes up for it.
Nice!!

6 - Pretty Good.
My comments reflect only the degree to which a given song helps me write my book. I think I'll have to thank RP in the notes.
