I'm sure the college kids love these guys and all their soul searching and darkness.  But by the time one has kids actually in college, those attributes don't work as well...not bad, but I'm too grey to get sucked into their vortex of indulgence...

Maybe I'm going soft in my old age and have experienced some natural (and man made) disasters, but I feel so much more these days, and I don't think I'm alone. People seem to be getting 'nicer'. Perhaps it's all the shit going on, maybe it really does bring out the best in *most* people. It's just a shame the unpleasant minority get all the headlines.

I was there too and it was an amazing show. Fortunately, it was mostly dry while they were playing, but I thought the gentle rain at the end only added to the magic, when everyone was singing along to Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks with the rain shimmering in the stage lights. One of the best shows I've been to.

These boys put on an amazing show and I just can't get enough of The National. Thanks Bill for playing them as much as you do. It's because of RP that I've grown to appreciate this great band.

This album is in rotation now on my favorite college radio station.  Fortunately albums usually only stay in rotation for about a month so I just gotta wait it out and hope that I am lucky enough to miss most of the plays.{#Lol} Their days are numbered for sheer blandness once they lose the hipster coolness tag the music is not interesting enough to sustain them for the long haul.  But then again, the masses usually have pretty poor taste in music so who knows maybe they will break the mainstream and can tour with Taylor Swift or something.
