Totally bummed that our local dance school isn't doing "Nutcracker" this year. I've been in or around their production for more than 20 years, beginning when my daughter was 6. Scenery mover, snow maker, props master, and now party parent. Sigh. I hope the school survives.
Update...Yes, they have survived. Nutcracker in 2021 was a stripped-down version (fewer children, fewer featured dancers per part), but it happened. And now in 2022 everyone is back. So great, can't wait!

Odd, this tune has never been anything but pleasant to my ears, but today it was akin to the anticipation of someone shoving needles into my eyeballs with each trill of the flute. 
My goodness. So much life and vitality packed into this little piece. In my mind I'm fluttering about in the air with ankles twittering back and forth. Perfect!
This is a nice song, although it's a little early for Christmas music...
Only thing wrong with it is its too short.
