Apparently, Laika died within several hours of launch, presumably from hypothermia or oxygen depletion. This band is from Finland, so it's possible they may have a sarcastic or dark sense of humor about Russia or the Soviet space program.
Laika - that's not in good taste. Laika was the dog the russians shot into space and let her starve to death there.

Can surf-Western music exist? YES! This is cool.

So do you need a safe place to go to, perhaps with a puppy and some Play Doh?

For more good tunes in that "surf music from outer space" genre, check out Man or Astroman?. I caught their live act in the late 90s and really enjoyed it.
I saw these guys in Cincinnati sometime around 1995. Played this set. And I bought the CD! This is - or they were - such an obscure band. I can't believe I'm hearing them on RP. This place will play anything by anyone!

I was looking forward to see such a genre.
Surf music from space?
First anal probes and now this. What will those aliens think of next?

Can we get through one surf tune without a freakin' reference to Tarantino and Pulp Fiction? He didn't invent surf music.
Amen to that! Sadly, such a wish will probably not be granted in the threads for any instrumental guitar tune played here.

Like it or not, he turned a lot of people onto it. Myself included.

The cover looks like it was drawn by Sergio Aragones. Enjoying the music, btw.
