Long before I knew the path we were going
Seems as though I should have stopped it
Oh, all these things, we'd done before
Been so many years since I was alone here
Lakeshore is glowing
Oh, all these things we'd done before
Was it an accident? Was it an offering?
Oh, was it yours?
First five, then four
First five, now four
First five, now four
Dark
Eyes in the dark
Looking for what?
Yours
Anything yours, anything ours
All I own
I don't want, can't be sold
Slow river to cross
Steady us all
Young world in your heart
Rivers I know
All I own
I don't want, can't be sold
Been so many years since I was alone here
Lakeshore is glowing
Oh, all these things we'd done before
Was it an accident? Was it an offering?
Oh, was it yours?
First five, now four
First five, now four
First five, now four
First five, now four
All I own
I don't want, can't be sold
I don't want, can't be sold
I don't want, can't be sold

that there is an autoharp in the photo of her

I hadv3rd grade teacher who played one for music class
I really like this song. Vaguely creepy. Can anyone tell me what it's actually about?
Interesting sound, rhythm, slightly catchy, a little bit haunting, I like!
I was driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains on the way to my mom's and this song was tucked away in my iPod and had not been sorted into a playlist.  Here I was being directed by my GPS through little mountain roads, through tree tunnels, past billows of wildflowers when this started playing.  The whole experience was so enchanting I played this song on repeat for the rest of the hour drive.
Another amazing and talented Canadian export.
Joni Mitchell comes to mind

Mmmmnm, yes.

A close friend of hers was killed in a traffic accident. It is quite something that this beauty can come from grief.
One of my favorite ladies, a select few who can make one fall in love with just their voice and a fine story.
Can this woman do no wrong?  Yet to hear a song from her that didn't get my attention

Saw her on yNPR's Tiny Desk Concert.  talented lady...
Almost Natalie

Indeed, a 5 or a 4.
8 plays in the last 30 days!  A nice song, but still a few to many times! {#Stop}
A woman folk singer from Canada! Geez, now you don't see that very often.
I think Basia could be the reincarnation of Sandy Denny. Would love her to do some Sandy's repertoire (like Crazy man Michael).
I think she had her holidays in China
I wonder what this is about?
So cute...muito bonitinha!
Lovely, lovely voice...I'm enjoying this folky session

Agreed, 'cept this time you had to wait a few for Count Basie to fulfill that role.

Yes very Folksy , shame about the Morris Dancers coming in too loud though.

It certainly does have the aroma of Real Ale hanging about it.  Touch of the Bishop's Finger, perhaps

ps  nicely followed by Iron & Wine - Pagan Angel - so there might be some link

i thought the same thing....when the song first started, i thought it could've been a remake of an early leonard cohen song...

i would take that comment as a compliment, btw -
Oh, what a sweet voice - it goes straight to the heart. 8 from the smitten Nottingham jury {#Hearteyes}

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you dislike it? Was that a compliment? She plays a Dulcimer so maybe you just got it wrong.

Great if you're into this - me, I just don't get it.

I have the volume pretty low, but I can definitely hear this, too.

her voice is pretty and she called a song "five, four" where the bulk of it is in 5/4 - what's not to like - will rate it higher than five or four
I agree with pitchfork "rare, extraordinary voice"
Yes very Folksy , shame about the Morris Dancers coming in too loud though.
I thought of Linda Thompson, but Sandy Denny works for me too!
