Amazingly, this was recorded with only four tracks per the beatlebible link. It’s actually a multitrack mono recording since no pairs were used at the same time. It’s remarkable how good the sound is. Must have been top of the line 1964 gear.

The end and the beginning-before the Beatles popular music was Percy Faith and Perry Como-I give them 10's because of the world they opened up for me and all the dopes of my generation-they said so much in a sparse time period it just cried out for acceptance!

When I used to watch the Beatles cartoon on Saturday mornings, "A Hard Day's Night" always started with that open guitar chord. I don't think I've heard that chord start this song since then (mid-1960s). Nice to hear it again!

Since I haven't posted anything in awhile, I thought I would post this pencil portrait I did of John Lennon a while ago. The reference was a screen cap from A Hard Day's Night. I always loved this scene with John. Once again, my scanner read the texture of the paper more than the soft shading, so it looks a little rough. Looking at this drawing makes me sad sometimes. I'm a huge Beatles fan and I still remember the day he was killed like it was yesterday. And then the loss of George.....yeah, I'm a sentimental sap. Well I hope you like the drawing.

The opening chord ALWAYS stops me in my tracks and I immediately smile.
