I find it hard to believe that I do not have this album in my library given that every track I hear from it, here on the glory that is Radio Paradise, I absolutely love!

Interestingly enough, I am hearing a lot of Crosby, Stills and Nash in this song. The vocals are super engaging through the entire piece

Honeyed lyrics. Love the man. Always interesting. Whatever he does.
It took me a long time to warm up to Beck, but I've come around. Consider the artists commenters have compared this song to, then check out the "associated acts" section ofnthe linked Wikipedia article; this guy defines "eclectic".

Of all the artist featured on RP, I think Beck is the most "Baskin & Robbins" like, as he seems to feature a new "flavor" of music with each album, and even within an album. His Wiki page says his music "encompasses folk, funk, soul, hip-hop, alternative rock, country and psychedelia” and I’m not complaining…I love the vast variety, although often I’m left with a “what’s this?” feeling after hearing something of his.
This track though….I’m bumping it to a 9 today. Not sure if I can name many of his tunes (don’t get me started on ‘Loser’ though) although I usually find myself either skipping in disgust or thinking “wow Beck’s pretty good.”
As for the scientology issue….I don’t really give a damn….he can believe in Aliens having seeded the earth and yadayadayada….I’ll just enjoy his music. Long Live RP!!

Beck is an incredibly versatile artist. Think of the arc of his music from Mellow Gold to the present. The first few notes of this song I thought it was CSN, and yes, it is resonant of Simon & Garfunkle, and Elliot Smith too. He's retro, yet always out front, always changing it up (think Mutations followed by Midnite Vultures and then by Sea Change). Haven't head this song before or anything from his latest album. Makes me want to check it out.

Indeed... it's really more like a suite that requires listening all of the way through. This is what I often do while preparing a weekend breakfast, as it really lends itself to early morning listening.
I bought the hi-res FLAC version from HD Tracks. I haven't yet listened to it on my high-end DAP (assuredly not a Pono—sorry, Neil), but look forward to doing so.
My favourite album from 2014, but really all of the songs are good on this album, so I don't know why it seems that this is the only track played from it. It's probably me just tuning in at the "wrong" time.

But wait, there's more…Bill just pampered our ears with a beautiful transition from A Filetta — Like a Breath of Air to this. Is there no escaping the wonder? Hope not!

The vocals indeed sound like David Gilmour. I am very surprised by how good and quiet the song is.
A "quiet" album but definitely one to sit down, turn up loud, and get involved in! It does not disappoint.

While I agree that RP is probably not the best forum to argue about politics, to state that politics and beliefs should be left out of music is a bit of a stretch. Most of the greatest musical, and other types of artists, create works that espouse their own political and spiritual beliefs.
