Hmph. "Different strokes..." and all that, but I have bought more than a couple of critically -acclaimed albums over the years (one in particular by Keith Jarrett comes to mind) on which the playing was as great as the reviews said, but the near-constant "nee nee nee" of the pianist just ruined it for me.

It is similar sounding; minor key (Dorian?) chords.  Anyhow, this song was written by John Coltrane not Tyner.

I've heard a bunch of pianists and keyboardists do it. Drummers too. Oscar Peterson. Greg Rollie. Jack DeJohnette. Making love to that thing, baby.
