Listening from Tehran. Love RP from Iran.
just came across this, hope you are safe as the mentally challenged nazi wannabe in the whitehouse is threatening some bad shit today
Bill, I don't know how you can resist playing I Feel Love right after this...
I'd rather go with Flock of Seagulls..
ok I'll get my coat.
just notched it to 9
Wonderful people, insane government.
The US might soon fall into in the same category.
you should read up on the history of the US meddling in the "insane" govt of Iran
Please, please play Donna Summer after this!
Or Amanda Lear!!!!
I hear Giorgio Moroder and shades of Midnight Express....
Came here to post the same!
Dang it now I need to listen to "Chase" and "I Feel Love"
Please, please play Donna Summer after this!
INSTEAD of this
This sounds like the opening theme to Friday Night Videos! For those of us whose parents wouldn’t spring for cable & MTV, we were relegated to the hour & a half of music videos (including ads) provided by network tv. Does anyone else remember?
OMG - thanks for the memory jog!!!
I keep hearing "Trans.... Europe... Express"
And I keep hearing Giorgio Moroder circa 'I feel love'.
People in the future will read this and shrug, since this will become more common. They may remember that 2023 marked the beginning of climate change shifting into overdrive.
Is it the music messing with me, or does the non-goddess girl in this look like Debby Harry when you glance quickly?
which one is the non-goddess girl (and what does non-goddess mean)?
if you're talking about the brunette - 2nd girl who touches her hair, then the only similarity i see to debbie is possibly in the eyes due to the makeup.

Agreed. I believe Moroder, and also mentioned Kraftwerk, were both influenced by Tangerine Dream, sounds like it. In any case, all three were contemporaries working in the German music scene, so likely they influenced each other. Hard to say who was "first".
From the STARZ series American Gods; this song is used in the soundtrack for that series, quite possibly in the scene shown.
Her scene in the book is very...absorbing.
Hot! Where's that from?
American Gods!

Would be a bit obvious wouldn't it.. I think Bill has more subtlety
Not always, why be subtle if it works, right?
Yes, Giorgio Moroder made no secret of his emulating the Kraftwerk/Conrad Plank sound when he produced "I Feel Love" with Donna Summer. Reitzell is clearly paying homage to Moroder and Kraftwerk with this piece. Having Debby Harry vocalizing on it was a brilliant idea.
I always think of Daft Punk and specially the song "Giorgio by Moroder"...
Recycling/borrowing/stealing from the best ad infinitum apparently!
Still a great song!

Thanks Proclivities.
Now I better understand a couple of the songs that Steven Wilson released recently. In particular Eyewitness on the B-sides Collection EP.
Wilson has long cited Donna Summer as an early influence.
Actually, Natural Blues by Moby was a perfect transition.

No wonder I thought this was a long-lost Blondie song!
WE ARE LEGION!!
Bill is clearly a man of strong resolve,....and besides, it would be way too obvious !
but today it appeared 17 tracks before this one. I got that same old deja vu feeling all over again! (I just love a triple redundancy)

Greetings from the 'Great Satan', perhaps some day we can sit and share a meal and watch our grandkids play in the park. I'm sure we can discuss how a country's politics have nothing to do with how people feel towards each other. Peace.
Awesome message, maybe minus the'great satan' part...i mean if we're trying to dispel cultural and religious stereotypes and all. Long Live RP and PEACE!!
Right?! This demands a mash-up!

Well...I suppose I should BUMP (...yayo...) this song up a couple...we've got bad girls dancing and a chef cutting up lines in the bathroom...time to party!! Long Live RP!! 6→8!!
I mean, a chef cutting up lines in the bathroom, well, that's just 4:30 on any old Friday.
just bumped to 9, needed to hear this on a lame Friday...

It's all so senseless
(wow, nearly all the lyrics sites got it wrong)
iconic 1977 hit, "I Feel Love" for some reason
Hot! Where's that from?
It's from the show American Gods so actually topical.

Happy to say they are out of production hell and filming S2, tho we'll have to wait til 2019 for it.
And S2 is already over! Good grief how the time flies!

Fair enough, I'm just impatient for "the good bits" and S2 is in production hell. Production Tartarus? :(

It was created for the TV show, which would have aired in Spring/Summer of 2017.
😂 True dat!

The pace had a European feel to it.

not abest mashup of Moroder's themes. :)
1. Midnight Express theme by Moroder. (oscar winning!)
2. i feel love by Moroder.

As a huge fan of the book I felt like "let's get on with it already" throughout much of season 1, but other than grumbling about the pace, I think it's pretty fantastic.

Not a film but a television series but most worthwhile IMO. Some of the strangest modern TV I have watched in a long time.
Terrific music too. Brian Retzell, eh? Nice to hear it on RP.
