Don't lay me down with the dirt on my head
You won't need a shovel, you don't need a cold headstone
You don't need to cry, I'm gon' be going home
I'm waiting for my spaceship to come back to me
It's coming back for me
I don't really care if you believe it's coming back for me, yeah
I been living in a lonesome galaxy
But in my dreams, I see them come and rescue me
Look up in the sky and there they'll be
I bet you'll think of me then
You're gonna say, "Ooh, look at that, oh yeah, yeah"
Damn, if it ain't true
They're coming back for me, they're coming back for me, yeah
I knew from the start I don't belong in these parts
There's too much hate, there's too much hurt for this heart
Lord knows this planet feels like a hopeless place
Thank God I'm going back home to outer space
I'm waiting for my spaceship to come back to me
It's coming back for me
I don't really care if you believe it's coming back for me, yeah
I been living in a lonesome galaxy
But in my dreams, I see them come and rescue me
Look up in the sky and there they'll be

You're gonna say, "Ooh, look at that, oh yeah, yeah"
Damn, if it ain't true

And I don't really care if you believe me

I bet you'll think of me then

"As I leave this earth and sail into the infinite cosmos of the universe, the wars, the triumphs, the beauty, and the bloodshed, the ocean of human endeavor, it all grows quiet, insignificant. I'm nothing more than recycled stardust and borrowed energy, born from a rock, spinning in the ether. I watch my life backwards and forwards and I feel free. Nothing is real, love is everything, and I know nothing."
I also LOVE this 'space ship' influenced play list this kicks off (Spaceship, then Space Oddity, then Space Child) - great work as always, William and crew!

On the strength of this one song, which i love, i bought the whole album. It was a mistake.
I can't speak for the whole album, but I think "Praying" is a fabulous song. There's a lot of strength and genuine emotion in it.

I was floored when I saw this was Kesha, who I had always written off. I definitely gave a lot of her other stuff a listen, but agree with you. This song, however, is a wonderful 9 for me. The hopefulness and optimism is a soothing balm whenever this comes on.
"thunk"...?
In a thousand years they'll still be playing this on AM radio (maybe still bleeping the word "damn"), and the kids will get it.
It's a children's song, to warn the kids about us adults, telling them to get out there, into outer space, to save themselves; lots of room out there, in outer space.
Just go, kids.
Since I don't listen to mainstream radio, I've never heard it. I can't say that I've ever heard anything by her before this. So one person's mainstream is another person's eclectic.
Exactly this. I like this song. One of the great things about RP is introducing us to songs we would have never heard before.
Ke$ha kills...
let me correct that for you with the addition of /s
"thunk"...?
An optional past participle of 'to think' - but probably not in any dictionary

It really tears the roof of the mother sucker.

Wooh Wooh Yeah He
Wow...that is a pretty good review, both in what they say about Kesha (I'm repeating myself, but I find it interesting how you take the $ out and end up better off, eh?) and in pop music in general. Seems folks are getting sick of (FINALLY!!) all that shit that was passed off as cool, whatever....and so I'm torn on my rating of this track. It's a 6 and a 9, and damn it I'm gonna round up my 7.5 → 8 just for shirts & goggles. Long Live RP!!
Don't let the hatch hit you in the backside on your way out of our solar system.
I'm back to a 7 rating simply b/c of what it offers BillG for his impressive segue skills.
and ain't it interesting how you can take the $ away and end up better off for it? PEACE!!
Well, that's why I am a fan of RP! I get to explore things I might not hear otherwise. Do I like it all? Hell no. Some of the afternoon jaunts into (Whatever that stuff is) can sometimes lead to a PSD, or two. Or three. I get to four sometimes and have to sign off for something else. I happens. But to me, that's the point here, there's something for everyone's tastes I reckon.
As far as this goes, Well I didn't PSD. In fact, IMO, its not bad. I liked it a lot better than many other songs I hear here. Unexpected? Well yeah! I was surprised it was this artist, and surprised by its style, and surprised to hear banjo and mando, and...... Surprised.
I would listen to it again. Would I hunt it down and buy it? Probably not.
But thank you for turning me on to it Bill! That's why I listen to RP.
2nd time hearing it and yeah, I think I like it too.
LOL!
For the first bit I honestly considered changing my opinion of this, and then she started talking and then it deteriorated in to what I remembered rating a 2.
Or Tom Waits/Kesha.
Yes, I'm counting on Bill's ship arriving AFTER mine. Rock on, RPI!
Isn't open-mindedness a wonderful thing sometimes?!

Huh. I like it.
100% agreed - I've bumped my original 5 to a 6, which is in the right direction, just like lady Ke(not$)sha - kudos to her for getting out of "the Machine." PEACE
*EDIT* - I really like what she says at the end, and while the song seems worse off for it, the message is SPOT ON...so I'm bumping my just raised to a 6 rating to a 7.
And Have a Cigar next? I so thought it would be Welcome to the Machine, although this worked great...segue master BillG! Long Live RP!!
Exactly this.
I've never heard a note from her, barely recognized the name. This is fine.
The artwork looks like it was completed by a High School Senior for art class. Heck, I used to draw melting eyeballs back in '74 on my book covers too.
Tho, Nice butt on album cover
