And if you don't, I'll dance anyway
Give peace a chance
Let the fear you have fall away
I've got my eye on you
I've got my eye on you
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
If you go, I'll stay
You come back, I'll be right here
Like a barge at sea
In the storm, I stay clear
'Cause I've got my mind on you
I've got my mind on you
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
If you dance, I'll dance
I'll put my red dress on, get it on
And if you fight, I'll fight
It doesn't matter now, it's all gone
I've got my mind on you
I got my mind on you
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
Say yes to Heaven
Say yes to me
I've got my eye on you
I've got my eye on you, mm
I've got my eye on you
I've got my eye on you
She knows her genre / lane and sticks to it
Seems very familiar...
See the Sky About to Rain . . .
Her music is enjoyable, but something is missing. She leaves me with the impression of a singer that just isn't trying very hard. Maybe that's the intent? Discuss...
Shades of Mazzy Star - same sort of wistfulness and delivery as Hope Sandoval ....
Sorry, someone has to say it...
I think it's more like an expression of ennui, or emotional detachment. Personally, I find her music very affecting.
Yes!
And I love that you used the word 'ennui.' Brilliant.

As in vacuum cleaner?
Or as in a vacuum? Or in a vacuum cleaner?
Unoffensively vacuous.
As in vacuum cleaner?
It's actually a sewer.
It's in Long Beach, CA. There are two tunnels under Ocean Blvd, both of them long closed. One in downtown between two buildings and another that goes from Bixby Park to the beach.
David Lynch needs to make more movies to put her music in.
I first heard of and saw her in the memorial concert for Leonard Cohen, performing Chelsea Hotel #2 with Adam Cohen--sexy, touching, a highlight of the evening. Just getting used to her music.
I wonder why the year isn't getting included with these newer song additions. It feels like it's breaking the great music database here.

You may be onto something there. But in general, for me, music without emotion is uninteresting (think elevator/dental office music or your local "light hits" FM: intended to offend no one). I don't think her music lacks emotion. It doesn't have a lot of dynamic range. It might be considered restrained or understated. Billy Eilish ('ethereal' or 'whispery' per critics) is a great example. It doesn't demand to be heard and could be turned down in the background and ignored., unlike the Robert Plant that followed this just now. Sort of like a black and white photo vs one with super saturated color - both can be impactful though hugely different). Or maybe I'm completely up in the night.
Ordering the comments by Newest, I see you've posted five successive negative comments about this song/artist. I'm tempted to enquire whether she's pissed on your chips, or stolen your boyfriend.
I was going to suggest M. Signwrtr61 use the little arrow/line at the bottom of the screen and click it. Much less energy wasted.
Thanks RP :)
Edit: Not sure if this is going to stay this way, but there's an almost pop art quality to the echoing pics (album cover and wiki page). Somehow wish there were more tilted Lanas on the screen :)
She's got her eye on you.

Maybe listen to some Cowboy Junkies, Mazzy Star or Hope Sandoval working solo, it's aaaaaaall like that.

Very nice - not very familiar with her music, but what not to enjoy about this tune?
it's a ho-hum rating for me. but, it doesn't make me want to skip/ff/PSD like most of her music. i just think she sounds so bored all the time, and that's how i'd describe her music. boring.

Lily34 is right: Lana sounds bored much of the time. When she sings with real emotion, she can put a lump in my throat. But the general lack of passion and the often uninspired lyrics leave me wondering, "Is that it?"

where does the tunnel go?
