You don't want to be changed like it changed me
You don't want to be changed like it changed me
You don't want to be changed like it changed me
You don't want to be changed like it changed me
Been dodging gods I didn't want
(You don't want to be changed like it changed me)
I'd gotten used to being lost
(You don't want to be changed like it changed me)
I never felt like I belonged
(You don't want to be changed like it changed me)
Turns out my mama wasn't wrong
(You don't want to be changed like it changed me)
You said, "Don't ever eat the acid
If you don't wanna to be changed like it changed me"
You said, "All the edges got so jagged now"
Everything you saw then can't be unseen
Last night I saw it all
Last night I talked to God
You don't wanna be changed like it changed me
You don't wanna be changed like it changed me
You don't wanna be changed like it changed me
You don't wanna be changed like it changed me
I swear to God, I closed my eyes
I heard a voice inside my mind
The Universe said, "Now's your time"
And told me, "Everything's alright"
You said, "Don't ever eat the acid
If you don't want to be changed like it changed me"
You said, "All the edges got so jagged now"
Everything you saw then can't be unseen
You said, "Don't ever eat the acid
If you don't want to be changed like it changed me"
You said, "All the edges got so jagged now"
Everything you saw then can't be unseen
Last night I saw it all
Last night I talked to God
You don't want to be changed like it changed me
You don't want to be changed like it changed me
I searched for answers all my life
Dead in the dark, I saw the light
I am the one that I've been fighting the whole time
Hate has no place in the divine
In the divine
In the divine
In the divine
In the divine
Place in the divine
You said, "Don't ever eat the acid
If you don't want to be changed like it changed me"
You said, "All the edges got so jagged now"
Everything you saw then can't be unseen
You said that, "The Universe is magic
Just open up your eyes, the signs are waiting"
You said, "Don't ever eat the acid
If you don't want to be changed like it changed me"
Last night I saw it all
Last night I talked to God

Gives me chills every time I hear it. Reminds me of how I have been changed.

Cool tune,
I did acid on multiple occasions and don't believe it changed me. But if it did, how would I know?
Hmmmmm

This use of autotune actually makes me feel good about its use like Imogen Heaps use…
But no, do not eat the acid..

The cover photo kind of freaks me out, though.

Interesting and very different song. I didn’t like it at first but as it went on, it grew on me.

Been there, done that, have the T-shirt.🤣
Maybe this is not about LSD, but those pricey super-premium artisanal vinegars that my wife got hooked on a few years ago.

Interesting! I never thought I’d like anything by Kesha but here you go, not bad!

Could have dodged the autotune
We humans love to categorize/stereotype things, like musicians, and when they become popular in a certain genre, say "dance pop", we tend to be unwilling to see/hear them in any other context.
I hear Kesha and I think "TiK ToK", then I hear this and think, hey, this isn't your sound, you're not allowed to do this. But artists like Bowie, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel and Joni Mitchell have shown us that yes, some artists are capable of mastering different styles and progressing musically, not just churning out the same stale sound for decades. So no, I'm not saying Kesha is the next David Bowie, but it's nice to see her trying something new and not worrying about what will make her "popular". Kudos for that.

the acid definitely changes perspective and perception… if you do enough of it.

good production and super strange lyrics conflicting - tension
Very immediate - good pop
Move over, Aldous Huxley and your Doors of Perception, Alan Watts and your Joyous Cosmology, Kesha's here with a gag order and a novel trip report!
Hmmm, I kinda like it.
Not sure about the cover photo, though.
