There's a war, there's a war

The kingdom's on fire
The blood of a young messiah
I see sinners in a church
I see sinners in a church
Sometimes I might be introvert
There's a war inside
I hear battle cries
Mothers burying sons
Young boys playing with guns
The devil's a liar
Fulfil your wildest desires
Now I don't wanna be the one to doctor this
But if you can't feel pain, then you can't feel the opposite
The fight between the Yin and Yang's a fight you'll never win
I study humans, that makes me an anthropologist
I'm not into politics
But I know it's dark times
Parts of the world still living in Apartheid
But if I don't take this winner's flight, that's career suicide
Though I should've been a friend when your grandma died
I see the illness eat my aunt laying in her bed
I see her soul rising as her body gets closer to death

Find a way, I'll find a way
The world's not over
I will make it, don't you cry
In God we trust
'Cause we're not alone

I need a licence to feel
Internal wounds and I'm not tryna be healed
I sabotage what we are trying to build
'Cause of feelings I keep inside, but it's time to reveal (Reveal, reveal)
I hate the thought of just being a burden
I hate that these conversations are surfaced
Simz the artist or Simbi the person?
To you I'm smiling, but really I'm hurting
I dedicate my life and gave my heart over twenty something years
Left wondering how I even feel
Or was it was even worth it?
I bottle up and then spill it in verses
One day I'm wordless, next day I'm a wordsmith
Close to success, but to happiness I'm the furthest
At night I wonder if my tears will dry on their own
Hoping I will fulfil Amy's purpose
Angel said, "Don't let you ego be a disturbance"
Inner demon said, "Mother fucker, you earned this"
Like they strip you of everything you're deserving
Realise there is a prison in us, we are conditioned as fuck
Man, it's like they can't sleep till our spirit is crushed
How much fighting must we do? We've been fearless enough
All we see is broken homes here and poverty
Corrupt government officials, lies and atrocities
How they talking on what's threatening the economy
Knocking down communities to re-up on properties
I'm directly effected, it does more than just bother me
Look beyond the surface, don't just see what you wanna see?
My speech ain't involuntary
Project with intention straight from my lungs
I'm a black woman and I'm a proud one
We walk in blind faith not knowing the outcome
But as long as we're unified, then we've already won

Find a way, I'll find a way
The worlds not over
I will make it, don't you cry
In God we trust
'Cause we're not alone

And so it begins
The base is an amalgamation of everything
Rules are not to be played by rebels
The story of never ending
Your introversion led you here
Intuition protected you along the way
Feelings allowed you to be well balanced
And perspective gave you foresight
The top of the mountain is nothing without the climb
Only the strong will survive
Only the strong will survive

Alone, but not lonely
Your truth unveils with time
As you embark on a journey
Of what it takes to be a woman

Not sure I like it that much on the first listen, but I had to give it a 7 just to counteract all those 1s. Come on people, it's not that bad! And I'm 68 years old!
Please make it stop.
New James Bond theme? Instant 9.
It's got something. Keep thinking of "The Streets". When was that? Early 2000?
Let's push things forward

Sorry you have such lame coworkers.

This is good music and not some _insert_category_, stop discriminating! It's not like another raggae song... And yes I understand my hipocricy, that was the point.
Reality.
Listen

As an artist and an introvert, art is the safest and truest way to express myself.
Not sure if I care for this style (Introvert) of music, but that's just my opinion. Has or is RP changing their music style of play from last year?
Bill, thanks for the diversity. Much appreciated.

Not seeing the paradise in this song. We’ll let the people’s vote have the last say.

The vote doesn’t seem to be working….
I let this play in the background and was pleasantly surprised given its overall rating. An easy 7 on first listen.
5 seconds in and I'm in love with her smile
"sinners in churches" is as truth as well as 'misbelievers in synagogues & mosques & temples & covens' but what should we say about those denying a chance to survive death?
You'd think everyone listening to the RP main mix would be pretty open minded about music, but some of the comments I see on things like this (rap, mainly) make me wonder.
rap on rp? not against it.. but thats pushin' it..
I dig the song though
repeats daily, too?
Oh NO.
highly annoying.
100% of the times this comes on I click the 'next' button as soon as possible.
Brilliant! I would put her on a musical par with the poet Amanda Gorman.

Seconded by this buttoned-down middle-aged west-coast professional-class white male...

Love the mushroom cloud hair-do album cover. Love the big smile.

But it's a PSD for me.
Make it stop!
Too bad this page does display the lyrics.  A lot to digest in there!
I like the intro...the Rap fails for me.  Just not my genre
Grandes arreglos. Quite original
The only track on Paradise I have ever ever given a 1.
That said, we all love Paradise for the eclectic choices.

I am disappointed to see that so many RP listeners need to be reminded to climb down off their high horses for 6 minutes once a day and just listen to something different…. Seems a lot of the hate is just because it’s ‘rap’ not the quality of the composition or the talent.  Sad really.

No perched view here... I like some Rap.... this just isn't in that group.

Where is the "zero" Rating!  PSD
Happy just to click the button and move on.

You just contradicted yourself since the curators picked this song... which means their tastes don't align with yours. The whole point of RP is to be exposed to things you never heard before (and might  like). Since you said you can't tolerate anything that doesn't appeal to you already, then you'd best be served by some pre-programmed list on Spotify or any number of streaming services that create echo chambers of music tastes.

Correct if I misread on what Tamer's comment was. They indicated that they "COULD" tolerate Genre's.

Lookie at the above lyrics!  I wrote a rap song!

No where's my mutha!#$%^^  check?  See what I'm sayin? Dat's what I'm sayin.

I hate to break it to you, but similar thoughts ("what is this stuff?") was said about Dylan in the early 60's. Would you like some help in removing that stick up your ass?

We’re not on any 'high horse'—just adults with a well-defined taste in music. We love this channel because the curators’ selections and exclusions mostly align with ours. If I wanted—or to be honest, could even tolerate—certain genres, I wouldn’t be here in the first place.

My sympathy towards your "visual" impairment. Pretty sure Bill gets the "final say"!

A person not sharing your taste is not an 'impairment'—visual or otherwise. Why do you feel the need to insult the moment you're confronted with a differing view? Please reflect on that. And if this truly is a community in line with the impression Bill has left, I believe the listeners will be the ones to decide.
All the Deadheads are foaming at the mouth right now.  Well done RP.

Nice! More like this on main mix! Mix it up, all these folks stuck in their ways...
RP don't do rap [please].

Interesting.  I'm not sure I want to hear it in heavy rotation, but there's something there.
Suck-Barfo ratings more than any other -- that is a 1st for me
No thank you...!

Even the bastion of good taste that is RP has been infiltrated by this noise. We are doomed.

Love it!!!

So good that Radio Paradise keeps introducing me to things any algorithm probably wouldn't introduce me to.
Nope.
Not seeing the paradise in this song. We’ll let the people’s vote have the last say.
Interesting, ambitious mashup, which didn't really work for me, but it's still a decent listen. Probably would have enjoyed it more without the rap - the orchestral stuff was great.

Second listen: 5 -> 6

Several listens later, liking this more each time. 7
This has managed to become part of the small club of rap/hip-hop songs that I do like.
Since RP has decided to play everything there is this is OK too, I guess.
innit.

On the first listen didn't catch the lyrics much, but the music was great!

Jumped in halfway into the song. Definitely looking forward to hear it again.
