I recall once upon a time,
Livin was so easy and I felt so fine.
But, my, my, my right before my very eyes,
Satan came with fire to burn me,
Wouldn't listen when they warned me.
A dagger in my back while she's calling me honey,
Wouldn't stand back, for neither love nor money.

Thirty minutes after my ship set sail,
She put up a sign and my house began to wail.
But, why, why, why I couldn't see it in my little girl's eyes?
She had such a way to fool me, Lord she had a way to fool me.
And I would ask the woman, "Can you find it in yourself to please stand back?
You ain't gonna rule me."

Just when all began to fade,
I reached out, threw the Ace of Spades.
I put her on a train to the Everglades.

Now that it's all over and gone,
Somehow I just don't feel so alone.
But, lie, lie, lie it seemed like such a waste of time.
She did not ever seem to know me,
But, now it's much too late to show me.
But, if I ever see that woman walkin down the street I'll just stand back,
And try to move away slowly.
Oh, yeah.

Spectacular rhythms going on in this! I could stand to hear a lot more of this than their radio-standard songs!
How is this only trending at 7.4? This is about as good as it gets.
Excellent!

Everything gets kicked up a notch tonight!!!  I'm loving it RP!!!

There are many times I feel the exact same way. An 8 becomes a 9, just cause of the moment. This is one of those times...
This goes to 11.
This set is on fire, thanks Bill

Where are these exposed mounds...?

You can't be too rich, too thin or listen too much to the Allmans.  I shit you not.
This shit just speaks to me. Never grows old.
it's badass grooves like this that lift the Bros above the crowd

This seems more funky than most of his material.

F-N-A.  The Bros rule!

"If I ever see that woman walking down the street, I'll just stand there, and try to move away slow."

I know what you mean, man.
Brings back the memories.  My older brother used to listen to this album a lot.
Eh. It's okay. Kinda weird. Prefer the Jazzier stuff.
"Thirty minutes after my ship set sail, she put up a sign and my house began to wail."

One of my all-time favorite lyrics.

Gregg Allman and Berry Oakley wrote this funky song...  this was the very last studio song recorded with Duane Allman...  love it...

I love it, too.  Their material has stood the test of time, and will continue to do so.

RAAAAAAAWWWWWKKK!!!!!

good advice

Allways good to hear Allman Bro's.  How about one play of "Blue Sky" from this very disk.
among the Allmans best stuff. vocals, guitar/slide/organ/bass/drum work, the whole shebang.

It occurs to me that the Doobie Bros were kind of an Allmans Lite.
Yeah!  Eat it!  Yum.
purrfectt!  eat a peach!
Long live Barry Oakley III.

No doubt, one of rock's very best bassists.
Who hasn't spent some a summer with just a ton of Allman's going on...
i dont like that song i give a 2.
Eat a Peach and Fillmore East are my fav Allman Bros... there are no better in my mind...great follow up for Derek Trucks...
A rarely heard gem on a stellar album. But why do I suddenly feel like eating a peach?
this is my number one CD / album in my music collection..I grew up close to the band memebers in florida do you relize how young they where putting this music out. 18 -26 years of age way ahead of others we lost them to soon!

Amen!
First concert ever. I remember this song being great! And that was a realllyyy long time ago. I will always fondly remember Allman Bros. as my "first". Fell for Dicky Betts after seeing him play so passionately and expertly.

True classic.
