To be a cut above the rest when they're cutting up the comfort
Would be no great comfort to me
When they're handing out cards amid the stink of disinfectant
In the risk of a serious disease
As the radio sings about a million things
From the rafters via the BBC
Someone throws a spanner says it's time to make a run for it
And crawls into the machinery

Mama
Don't cry for me
I'm working in the food factory

The sun sinks down into the west
And it comes up in the east
Some of us say that that's a sign of something
But it makes no difference to me
Some of us can't see
Some of us have got a mental age of three
Big mouths and little minds
That all need something to eat

Mama
Don't cry for me
I'm working in the food factory

Who in the world could ever see it come to this
Morning noon and night it never stops at all
Boys that run the line don't want to make a meal of this
It's not their favourite dish

I've seen them huddled in corners
Some say they're planning something big
I've heard whispers in the toilets
But that's really not my gig
A problem shared is a problem spread
And I'm not one to moan
I'll do my work rollover play dead
Clock off and set off home

Mama
Don't cry for me
I'm working in the food factory
I'm working in the food factory

Bill,  Yesterday I heard you discussing some of your music choices and how you were thinking some folks wouldn't like them since they were "outside the norm".  I just want to say your music choices are EXACTLY why we listen to you.  I LOVE the fact that you dig deep in your catalog and play gems we've never heard before.  Don't listen to the haters... they can go back to Spotify safety and listen to ads.  Keep doing what you are doing! It's why we are here - and why I'm sending $$'s right now.
Elvis Costello wrote, "a horrible little git called Eric, who’d stumbled into the office with a single decent song.” I'm "facebook friends" with Eric and I know that hurt him deeply. Most of the Elvis memoir ("Disappearing Ink") was fascinating but I just never finished it. That was just such a confusing, graceless thing to say.

This would seem to be an appropriate time to ask if you could possibly play something by Ian Dury and the Blockheads. . . .

Stay tuned——looks like they've added a couple of Blockheads to the mix.
A good pal of mine saw Eric live in a small local venue and said it was a really great night,
Eric came in the bar after the show and chatted to everyone.

Grossartig!!! Wreckless hat seit "Whole Wide World" eine Menge lustiger Musik gemacht. Und ist immer noch da.
Thinking about it, the one and only Wreckless Eric song I've heard was Whole Wide World.
I had to give it at least a 7 after reading the cover art...
Wow, had forgotten all about Wreckless Eric.  Great track!
New Wreckless?
WOW!
Instantly recognisable vocal (but it was more like - 'that sounds just like Wreckless Eric, wonder who it is?') Liking the track too!!

PS - Just read the cover
First listen/First time hearing of this artist. Looks like Elton J in pic but, definitely has his own sound! Pretty cool tune on first listen.
