It's unbelievable, it's strange but true,
It's inconceivable it could happen to you.
You go north and you go south
Just like bait in the fish's mouth.
Ya must be livin' in the shadow of some kind of evil star.
It's unbelievable it would get this far.
It's undeniable what they'd have you to think,
It's indescribable it can drive you to drink.
They said it was the land of milk and honey,
now they say it's the land of money.
Who ever thought they could ever make that stick.
It's unbelievable you can get this quick.
Bridge #1:
Every head is so dignified, every moon is so sanctified,
Every urge is so satisfied as long as you're with me.
All the silver, all the gold, all the sweethearts you can hold
That don't come back with stories untold, are hanging on a tree.
It's unbelievable like a lead balloon,
It's so impossible to even learn the tune.
Kill that beast and feed that swine,
Scale that wall and smoke that vine,
Feed that horse and saddle up the drum.
It's unbelievable, the day would finally come.
Bridge #2:
Once there was a man who had no eyes,
Every lady in the land told him lies,
He stood beneath the silver skies
And his heart began to bleed.
Every brain is civilized,
Every nerve is analyzed,
Everything is criticized when you are in need.
It's unbelievable, it's fancy-free,
So interchangeable, so delightful to see.
Turn your back, wash your hands,
There's always someone who understands
It don't matter no more what you got to say
It's unbelievable it would go down this way.
It's inconceivable it could happen to you.
You go north and you go south
Just like bait in the fish's mouth.
Ya must be livin' in the shadow of some kind of evil star.

I don't understand all the Dylan hate. It's unbelievable.

I think you mean that you don't like this song....
Or maybe you do not find Mr. Dylan a source of inspiration?
or was this mornings "encounter" with your partner a bit boring?
What a boring fuck.

I'll say this as someone who spent decades as a devoted Dylan fan: this is a terrible song on a terrible album.
I like those shoes in the photo.
Amazing what a difference in age makes. Ask somebody who heard Dylan in their formative years - or a person who heard Nirvana at a similar stage. They will most likely have very different opinions about the others' influence and worth
oh so zesty!

Let me quote from the entry about him on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum website,
"Bob Dylan is the pre-eminent poet/lyricist and songwriter of his time. He re-energized the folk-music genre, brought a new lyrical depth to rock and roll when he went electric, and bridged the worlds of rock and country by recording in Nashville." Thank you. I will read on for my edification.

Ok . . . great argument there captian original.
You are right, without him, popular music would be different. . . and there would still be people like you saying, 'if "so and so" hadn't become popular then blah, blah, blah . . .'
Don't over analyze ; just enjoy.
Your ideas aren't another's.
Gee, did I use too many highfalutin words? Is that why you think I over analyzed? However, I really liked your insightful observation that my ideas aren't another's. Keep 'em comin', Tex.

OK. I'll bite. What did Dylan do that makes him a music history legend? I'm serious. He's a bit before my time and is revered by many. But, he can't sing worth a damn. What did he bring to music that changed the landscape of music in the 20th century?

Get serious. Dylan was one of the most important musical genuises of the past half a century. Without him popular music would've been completely different. So, I'll accept that you don't like his voice, many people don't, but his place as a legend in musical history is indisputable.

The song does kinda suck, but your statement above is nuts..
