The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
The cars hiss by my window
Like the waves down on the beach
I got this girl beside me
But she's out of reach

Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Headlight through my window
Shinin' on the wall
Can't hear my baby
Though I call and call

Yeah, right
Woo!

Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom
Windows started tremblin'
With a sonic boom, boom
A cold girl'll kill you
In a darkened room

Yeah, woo
Ride
Ride on

Weooooo! Wawa, eooo! Oooo, owa, owaaa! Wa, waaaaea! Ooo, wa, wa, wa, wa, waa!

Speaking of windows, this sure sounds a lot like Jimi's "Belly Button Window". Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Thank God.
Holy shit was that horrible! I am really glad that I never heard that before, and I really hope I never hear it again!

Jimmy speaks through many voices.
Jim used to listen to Otis Redding for hours on end, and I'm glad that he and the band sure could lay down some sweet badass blues...

Nope. Except for "Riders" Morrison comes off as an annoying bully.
Manzarek is one of my main style influences, but the Doors are just annoying.

I always found Dennis Leary's "review" of The Doors movie to be the most accurate:  "I'm nobody, I'm drunk.  I'm famous, I'm drunk.  I'm fat, I'm drunk.  That's the movie; big fat drunk guy dead in a bath tub at the end."

The same Dennis Leary who yaps endlessly for Ford trucks on TV like he's still an edgy blue-collar wise guy. Whatever appeal his opinions had for me ended a long time ago.

One of the owners of a nightclub next to Morrison's last hotel came forward recently and claimed that he found Jim in a bathroom stall at the club, dead from a drug overdose. The owner was terrified that the police would shut down the club if he reported the matter, so he and a friend moved Morrison's body back to his hotel room via a secret staircase connecting the two businesses, drew a bath and plunked the body in.

Not the greatest Doors song. Who knows what Jim would have done if he'd cleaned up, but I think his Rock God days were coming to an end regardless of what he did or wanted.

I agree. You can't help but wonder how great the next album might have been. Alas.
Dying in a drunken/high stupor in a Parisian bathtub was Jim's fate.

Thanks again, Bill.  RP is the best radio station on the planet.  And this may be my favorite rainy day song of all time.  Not that it's raining here now, but still..
Yeah Bill I see what you're doing... and I love it. :)
So Bllluuuuueeeesssssyyyy!

Yea, and I need a banana for my cereal in the morning.

Really excellent restrained musicianship on this track.

  {#Bananajam}{#Dancingbanana}{#Dancingbanana_2}  There.  That's MUCH better ...
My senior quote:  "The cars hiss by my window like the waves down on the beach."

And I LOVE Jim's guitar solo at the end.

Ah, ye of little faith! Yes, that sad scenario is one possibility. So there is an upside to dying young. I'd like to think the Doors could have produced a few more classic albums and then faded away. Given Jim's propensity for booze & drugs however, I guess the way things turned out was pretty much inevitable.

I once read a comment on another Doors tune on RP which mentioned that if Jim Morrison was still alive he would be overweight, have a screwed up life and have a reality show on a cable station. RIP Jim!!!!
Excellent...
I liked it right up until the end. Whatever Jim was doing at the end there just ruined it for me. 5/10
So wonderful to hear one of the more obscure (non-top-40) tracks by this great band.
Great song. I'd kinda forgotten what a great blues band the Doors were ...
I love this album...and fat bloated Jim!
I can't help thinking of the Doors movie during the making of this album. Whiskey and Head.
