Oh I know, he didn't get himself together until the mid 70s after Yoko took him back for the final time. A shame really, he was finally coming into his own as a human being when his life was snuffed out far too soon.

Yes, it was no secret that John treated Yoko terribly which is why I try to come to her defense when the Beatles fan berate and attack her as being the cause of the bands breakup. Sure, she did not help the band dynamic at all to be sure, but the whole relationship with John was no picnic from her perspective either.

John had some issues...The lyric didn't just appear out of thin air...Several other have pretty scary lyric from Lennon. I used to be cruel to my woman I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved Man, I was mean but I'm changing my scene And I'm doing the best that I can (ooh)
