We've got to get a message to the stars above
Like radios in heaven hearing just enough
And every single teardrop along the way
We put them in our pockets for a rainy day

But here we are in trouble like we always are
Just praying for a miracle and reaching for stars

We love you, would die for you, we need you every day

We got to get a message to the promised land
Like semaphores in motion so they'll understand
But every single vision that we saw today
We didn't quite believe it in the usual way

Yet here we are in heaven, who could want for more
We always end up getting what we're asking for

We love you, would die for you, we need you every day
We love you, wouldn't leave you, we miss you, far away

It's just another promise like we've heard before
We're never really knowing what we're fighting for

We love you, would die for you, we need you every day
We love you, wouldn't leave you, we miss you, far away
We love you, would die for you, we miss you, far away
We love you, would die for you, we need you every day

Surprised that this is the sole OMD song on RP

Well, La Femme Accident shows up if you search under the full band name, but it doesn’t appear to get played much.

I’m surprised that The Day Before You Came isn’t part of the RP cannon. Seems like it should be. Or maybe The Game Above my Head.
Thanks for playing this William...this is why I love RP so much.

OMD is a really good band.  Not the best song from them, but I will take it...

This must change. The latest album has some great songs.

Some more OMD, please!

Second that emotion! Their first albums were brilliant and a bit weird. The Pacific Age was a grab for pop stardom and had some big misses but I loved it. This isn't the best song from the album--the title track is the one RP should be playing--but I love that you're playing OMD.

Now how 'bout some Pet Shop Boys?
1981 Architecture & Morality superb album.  Best use of synths.  Stood the test of time.

I also do - but the risk of nuclear war was extremely  higher then.

Kidz ...

If you wanted killer music, be drugged out and all the thrills of worrying about nuclear war ...

You should'a been around for the 60's.  Nothing holds a candle to those days and times in those regards.

And now, the drugs are crappy, the music is itself vapid and we once again have that same country as in the 60's making nuclear threats.  All the thrills of nuclear war without any of the goodies from the old days to make it more endurable.

Sigh ... pass me the Lysergic acid diethylamide please ... STAT !
Surprised that this is the sole OMD song on RP

That groove. If you don't dance and scream - you're dead.
OMD lifer, but not their best.  Might not make my top 20 even, but solid.  Not a 5.9.
Lol, here's what I just wrote for my next song, what do you think?

"We've got to get a message to the stars above

Pretty lame, I know. But I'm still trying.

OMD produced some excellent music but this ain't it (cf. Architecture & Morality)
OMD had one beat on their electronic beat box, and variations on one tune. We were children of the 80’s and thought they were gods. Lol.

I like that this was played, if only because it gives some people cramps. Solid pop 7

Like menstrual cramps?
OMD is touring this summer with B-52s and Berlin. They're coming within about 400 miles.
Whether you liked them or not OMD didn't play be any others' rules. They made weird quirky interesting music, both lyrically and musically. This isn't their best but no one does their best every time.

A fine OMD track is Maid of Orleans. Quite different than this, which sounds so much like the Brit pop of its era.
LOVE!! Reminds me of my teen years in the 80's. Keep it coming!!

wouldn't mind to hear that one again, why not on RP? OK, it really does sound outdated, but it definitely reminds me of my teenage years in the 80s - so Bill and Rebecca, please consider to put this back on the Playlist again!

Just about anything\'s going to sound like crap following the Beatles. But in this case, it\'s earned.
nails on a chalkboard....
Having an 80\'s flashback. Not good! Oh please, make it go away!
Nice addition to the mix! Loved OMD then, love \'em now!
There were some great song from the 80\'s There were many that were interesting There were some that were OK, if you didn\'t hear them too often. Too bad this song doesn\'t make that list.
Cool addition to the mix Bill. Haven\'t heard this in ages. Used to listed to tons of OMD. Not my favorite song, can\'t rate it high, but it\'s good to hear it!
Right on! OMD is one of those bands that people view as a "one-hit wonder" because of the popularity of "If You Leave", but they had a lot more (and better) songs than that!
