Lying in the depths of your imagination
Worlds above and worlds below
The sun shines on the black clouds hanging over the domain
Even when you're feeling warm
The temperature could drop away
Like four seasons in one day
Smiling as the shit comes down
You can tell a man from what he has to say
Everything gets turned around
And I will risk my neck again, again
You can take me where you will
Up the creek and through the mill
Like all the things you can't explain
Four seasons in one day
Blood dries up
Like rain, like rain
Fills my cup
Like four seasons in one day
It doesn't pay to make predictions
Sleeping on an unmade bed
Finding out wherever there is comfort there is pain
Only one step away
Like four seasons in one day
Blood dries up
Like rain, like rain
Fills my cup
Like four seasons in one day
I absolutely love the track "I got you" on the Dizrythmia album.. Check it out.
"Shit" isn't profane, not even close. Vulgar maybe, but not profane.
Earthy
Like this past Saturday when the temperature dropped 35 degrees in 10 minutes.
Must be the fault of their solar panels.
Anyone fom nz knows how overplayed the Finns are
I'm from NZ and ....just nah
(unless you're implying they're not played enough...)
I rate any song a 1 if it has profanity
Billy Connolly once said "There is no such thing as 'bad language', only bad use of good language."
I think these guys nailed it here, maybe you just don't get it...
Life must be very difficult for you.
Surely one of the best talents in the music biz. I am continually struck by how closely he sounds to McCartney in this! When I was lucky and blessed enough to experience Melbourne and all Victoria has to offer a 2nd time, my mates Geoff and Vicki Winter reminded me that this song is about the weather they have there; within the hour, it went from balmy (it was late November) to chilly and back again; as wild as the swings we have here in Boulder, for sure! Vicki's sister's husband went to school with Nick Seymour, who was Best Man at their wedding. I got to steep myself in lore of a favorite band with the best mates ever, in one of Earth's best realms...
to me this was a song about manic depression. how your mood can change by the hour. it's seemed more profound and insightful than if it was simply on the nose about weather. it's good how songs reach out to us in different ways
What a fucking stupid attitude.
Don’t feed the troll

Crowded House didn't realize it would offend you. I'm certain they'll change the lyrics to accommodate your delicate sensibilities.

They are currently touring again, check out the Neil Finn website!!
but i find this very dreary - talented artist, but the voice.... to me its like sedative which fails to really calm you but still sucks life out of you..
sorry;-)
Kinda the effect they wanted, I think...
indeed, now those who do not know should look up
Like all the things you can't explain, [like] finding out where there is comfort there is pain. Like CH.

My rating: 9 -OUTSTANDING
The RP audience have spoken
Pound sand nay-sayers
I had very much the same thought. For a second, I thought "those indie bands today, there is really a sound they all share"...

Like this past Saturday when the temperature dropped 35 degrees in 10 minutes.
Sitting in the Sydney Domain.
It's a reference to the weather in Melbourne, Australia. Melbournians are famous for using this expression.
Lovely song, BTW!!
Yes
"Yes." Thank you. My thoughts exactly. :)
I'll get me gas mask...

Really nice to hear them as I drudge away at my computer finishing off my month-end reports.
As Lazarus/Former Member/Romeotuma would say "it puts a spring in my step on this fine summer day"
Wow! Completely opposite reaction here.
Yes

Very sweet and thougtful comment, "Kitty".
I guess it happens to everybody - me certainly too!
"Porcupine Tree" is one example.
Amen
Beautiful.
a little too sappy for my personal taste, but to each his / her own...I do really like his new project...Pajama Party, with his wife and a couple others...pretty cool.
I know of a few bands that I did this to. Sometimes a "hit" comes out, slick and overplayed, and it's easy to tune it out. For me, sometimes it takes a few years of maturity, or life experience, or increased depth...who knows...but then I hear things again with new ears and do what you did. I slap my forehead in disbelief, amazed that I didn't see the brilliance when it was so obvious.
I thought 'Don't Dream it's Over' was dull, too. And now I think the Finn brothers are incredible...but it took some time to get there!

Wonderful-wonderful
SIGH...
I love that comment!
I love this comment!
The same rights I have to hear CH songs are the ones that allow you to keep making stupid comments.
I was making a simple comment that I don't care for Don't Dream it's Over, and that because of that I missed out on a lot of other great stuff. You chose to devolve the issue into an attack on me.
I don't attack people for their opinions, even if they are idiots. Everyone is entitled to their own and to post them to this forum. That's why it's here. However, I will attack people based on how they choose to express themselves. Clearly, you chose to express yourself like a spoiled little girl with a diaper full of shit and deserve to be treated as such.
It's people like this that make me wonder if the Internet will be the downfall of humanity. It allows way too much freedom to act like an ass with no consequences.
Second that...
You're too romantic Singray
Very nice song for sure !
Agreed. And...his voice kind of makes me swoon a little; the harmonies are so lovely...
Trolling's one thing, unprovoked personal abuse is another. Knock it on the head, John.
"Uninspired and simple" is really suuuch an abuse.
Don't be such a Fred, Riley and blow things completely out of proportion!
Who takes "Four seasons in one day" as NEW WAVE is worth a statement!
Stop putting gasoline into a fire that is not yet burning!
Rest assured - if you took "Don't dream it's over" for "uninspired" or "New Wave" you
are not the person being allowed to hear any other CH song!
You are a simple and very uninspired person!
Sorry, but someone had to tell you.
Don't dream is over = New Wave...
Tzzzzz..!!!
Unbelievable what some people come up with. Just uuuunbelievable!

That was uncalled for, Stingray. Play nice or swim back to your little toxic ocean. Your nastiness is not wanted.
Dammit.

I thought Kiwis were from New Zealand...
Nevermind, sublime it is.
