I flew out with my family to see these boys play a sold out show at Red Rocks this past June. Todd was so happy he was smiling the whole 2.5 hours. He certainly put on an amazing show for his hometown crowd (he's from Columbine.)

I used to have a live version of this song  that I played the heck out of. A more up-tempo version, and the guitar solo really soared. A great song either way.

Oh wow...this album is nearly 30 years old?  God I'm old... still a favorite.  Callaway Gardens had a Music Festival once.  Was an extravaganza that was poorly advertised so low attendance.  We locals had a blast.  The best part of the weekend is when BHT and the Monsters played for us.

I heard this when it first came out, headed down highway 101 up to Oregon.  Driving in the fall, with the beautiful colored leaves falling from the trees and blowing in the wind behind the car. wow, what a memory.

Grew up in Boulder but long gone by '93.  This and the Samples are the epitome of that echo-ey harmony hipster-before-we-called-it-that ringing-guitar style.  
This still gets played very often in Colorado on the radio.  As much as I'd like to say I'm sick of it and all my friend make fun of them, I still enjoy it.

Still sounds as poignant and yes -- bittersweet -- now as it did when it blew us all away back in the day.... They were great to us but they hadn't broke big yet...  Hard to find a better song to fit the times than this did... BHT making their signature groove for us to love; love it!

"Crazy Life" by Toad The Wet Sprocket was on a compilation cd that also had "Things We Do" by Indigenous. Mato Nanji and Todd Park Mohr's voices and guitar tones go very well together.

saw them twice in 2020 when they were in SoCal, the lads (& Hazel) are still delivering the goods! All solid artist's. Todd Mark Pohr has a signature guitar sound. Right up there with players like Knopfler and Robert Cray in my book. "Poor Miss" & "Wearing Only Flowers" are a couple of my favorite BHTM tunes.

I lived in Platt Park in the early 90's and got to see them at Herman's Hideaway on Broadway several times.  We ran into them at Pasquinis when we were feasting  on bear and breadsticks, seemed like really down to earth rocks stars (they were getting a moderate following by then).

The thing about this piece...it is sad, so sad really, and yet the sound is so beautiful, and uplifting and sweet,   Well, yes it truly is Bittersweet.  They touch the emotion, the bitter sweetness of love and loneliness and making it still feel good.  Amazing.  It can be no less than a 20.

Loved your comment though loved flying Frontier before ownership changed (for the worse). The lady singing with BHTM was another local Denver artists: Hazel Miller. Wouuld still lveo to see the video of her "helping out" out Bittersweet but have yet to find that online. Easier to find her providing some true soul on It's Alright but let me know if you (anyone) finds the link to the live performance - perhaps Soiled Dove in 2007? - where Hazel joins BHTM on Bittersweet. Perhaps this 1990 song is boring to many but I still enjoy it.

This is a bizarre song for an airline to plane before take-offs. Or maybe they're being honest and admitting your time with them will be, well, bittersweet. The whole experience will be a study in frustration (bitter), but you'll be happy when you get to where you're going (sweet). At least that's been my experience with flying. Another example of a song I never knew until I got into RP in 2005. Unlike many posters below who seem to be jaded by its popularity in the day, I listened mostly to classical and some jazz (like Flim & the BBs, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, ...) and missed most of this type music from 1970s until 2000s. Actually, reading the negative posts, I feel lucky in a way to be able to enjoy music like this afresh!

I'll admit I was somewhat ambivalent towards BHTM until I happened to see them live a couple of months ago.

Fan-freaking-tastic! Todd is one mean guitar playing mother effer and I say that with the utmost respect...the dude can play!

Similar but different: spring break, with a friend at Marco Island, early twenties, in college, just hangin' out and watching life go by.  It's part of my soundtrack to great times with great friends.

Excelsior, you sir are one screwed up individual, so negative.  Lighten up buddy,
