Melancholy, a little scary, and beautiful.

Are you kidding?
That movie was plodding, boring, and way, way too long.
We don't need any more movies about one of the worse despicable, sleazy, horrific, scum bags of American history: Jesse James. A habitual, cold blooded killer of innocent men, women, and children.
What a masterpiece of a movie , and this song just fits the mood .

It's a different Warren Ellis - Australian, not English - but both of them have shaggy, hipster beards.
Could be difficult if tangled with the bow...

Before looking at the provenance of this track I kept waiting for Natalie Merchant vocals to kick in. Turned out to just be a nice instrumental piece.

Warren Ellis.
They have done a good amount of movie scores together.

please stop...my ears are bleeding!
And he likes to sing his song, and he likes to shoot his gun, but he don't know what it means to be a man...
Gritty....
I love Nick Cave as much as I love any other artist, so I'm assuming responsiblity for how annoying this is to me lies with Warren Ellis.
Or perhaps I'm simply not in the mood for Raincoats-style violin right now.

hmmm... instrumental... for me it never got going.. A pity as I like Nick's voice

I'll assume it's not Warren Ellis the comic-book writer. (Though it would be like him and Nick Cave to work together.)

I love this song a lot. Just have to be careful not to get in such a depressed mood upon hearing it.

Luverly.
Warren Ellis on Violin.

slow is gooood
great movie, fine acting and beautiful music
The movie is a bit slow I'll admit, but one fine piece of work....and the sound / picture were the highest quality. Nick Cave did a song live in the bar, quite a treat.

This is beautiful!
Sounds faintly like Hem
and that's a good thing...
and that's a good thing...
Very nice.

Thanks. Fits my mood this morning. Never saw the movie. Know the story. I like movie soundtracks. Hidden gems that only a few find. Some music never makes it into the movie or is truncated. Now the soundtracks are another revenue stream so they use bigger names. Older films just went for the sound. I like finding Nu2Mi music... Love RP... tell everyone and urge them to move away from robot radio. Keep it up...
This movie was really good. I was pleasantly surprised since I am not usually a western or Pitt fan.

Cool tune, and a pretty good movie, IMO (but then, I have a high tolerance for slooow movies).
Probably not the best song to listen to if one is depressed and/or sad. It is a pretty piece of music, however, and on any other day, I would have given it an 8. Today, I'm sad and depressed, so it's at 7 for now.

Hear, hear! Kind of an old-time feel of that era....but with modern sound. And a wonderful fluidity throughout. Perfect for a sleepy, cloudy afternoon.
Me thinks it a rather lovely thing, this song.

It just started, and you already said Yuk? Jeez, give it a chance.
Yuk - (Edit - it's not bad...)
Melancholy, a little scary, and beautiful.
I think that is a great description of Nick Cave as well!
