Little did we know, that the world was dying.
That the birds outside, they never sing for us.
Winter time is slow, and the pain she'll be crying.
My blood runs cold, they never sing for us
Hollow, hollow... I'm empty
Guess we'll go outside, and face the slaughter.
Of a dead end life, and a world getting smaller.
Shortly you'll be here, my little darling.
All the birds can crow, and the winter doesn't matter.
Hollow, hollow... I'm empty

A great little tune.
The main riffs sound a lot like Gerry Cinnamon, a Scottish rock musician who I think does deserve some airplay on RP.
i really like the album art.
Thanks for playing Trampled By Turtles! My new favorite band, and they are from my new adopted home town of Duluth.

I don't remember old Howard P. ever setting stories in Duluth (not that he didn't). I recall most of them taking place in New England - mostly fictional towns such as Arkham, Dunwich, and Innsmouth, Massachusetts. I think some were set in Vermont and Rhode Island, but Duluth, Minnesota is pretty far from there. He did have a friend and executor named August Derleth however. I think the "Elder Ones" reside in New Hampshire.
Intriguing cover art on this album.
Lovecraft wrote a racist crime/horror talse set in Brooklyn called "The Horror at
Red Hook".

Nice music. Sad song. :(
Wow, I have not heard this before. Instant 8!
My kind of music!
Wow! A Northern MN band gets their music in a Subaru commercial!
Congrats?

The name reminds me of an old underground cartoon where the two characters are about to be trampled to death by a stampede of penguins. One character says "We can't die like this! It's TOO POINTLESS AND STUPID!!!"
Maybe that's where the band got its name.

Seems to me it would be almost impossible to be trampled by turtles.
Couldn't you just casually stroll out of their way as they lumbered toward you at what, 0.1 mph?
Perhaps I'm being too literal.

Never heard this before. Very nice song!!
This is pretty mellow for TBT. They tend to go more for the hard bluegrass sounds. Good to see the home town boys getting some national attention!
Thanks for the late night TBT! One of Minnesota's well kept secrets, but I'm glad they're getting some exposure!

Decent mellow song.
I do like the album cover art a lot - Not that it has anything to do with song quality . . .

Loved "Fargo", set there I think. Recent series with Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton was entertaining too.
Until now, I'd only ever heard of Duluth in HP Lovecraft stories, where it gets a pretty bad image as a 'degenerate' place full of demon-worshippers with webbed fingers. I'm sure it's a lot, lot nicer place than that in real life, and that Lovecraft must have had a bad experience to have had such a downer on the place.

Great band! First time I have heard them here. If you like this tune check out their back catalog, you will not be disappointed.

Don't go there. A few of us have even offered to polish his gerbil and it got us nowhere...
I was sure Bill announced these as "Trampled by Gerbils," which I was about to comment as Best Band Name of 2014.

Nice to hear a Nord Minnesota group on this snowy, cold, windy winter night.
I would like to hear more of this. Not flashy but instruments are tighter than first they may seem. I think of Byrds.
Kind of a melancholy bluegrass vibe; 7-ish.
Nice cover artwork.
