No-one sees the things you do
Because I stand in front of you
But you drive me all the time
Put the evil in my mind
Used to sing and say my prayers
Live my life without a care
Now I have become a fool
Because I listened to the mule
How can I change when my mind is a friend
Of a Lucifer hid in the ground
Just another slave for the mule
Because I stand in front of you
But you drive me all the time
Put the evil in my mind
Used to sing and say my prayers
Live my life without a care
Now I have become a fool
Because I listened to the mule
How can I change when my mind is a friend
Of a Lucifer hid in the ground
Just another slave for the mule

Beware the Gigantic Intergalactic Sperm!!
Ten. Ten. Ten. Ten. Twenty.
Haven't heard this in a long time
Thanks R P
Thanks R P
thats some fine drumming
Was listening to this as I was working. I'm thinking, that sounds familiar. Looked on the RP page. Deep Purple. That drum and organ. Natch.
Had this on 8 track blasted it a lot in my '64 Ford Falcon (bought it for $400) great album
A bit surprised this is unknown or obscure for a lot of people. What about Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy, which provides the inspiration for this song? All of it --- this incarnation of Purple and science fiction back when it wasn't mainstream -- was bread and butter for me.

This album version is fantastic but The "made in japan" version is so much better !

Thanks!
Thanks!
Great drumming
One of the deep tracks from when they were firing on all cylinders and before they drifted permanently into a hair band (imho) and a cliche of themselves. Still a lot of melody in this tune.
The drumming on this is groovy
Are they sure that's not a sperm ball on the cover?
First time hearing this in my 63 years, and I had a lot of albums and 8-tracks. Thanks Bill.
Sophomore in high school. Thanks for allowing me to feel young again one more time.
I love the obscure histories this channel exposes.
Excellent, excellent deep cut from Deep Purple. I have this album and it's been decades since I've given it a spin! Easy 8 for a rockin tune from another time!
Great to hear this again, love the drums.
Long time Radio Paradise listener. Occasional contributor.
So fantastic to hear my favourite incarnation of Purple (Mk 2, of course) blasting over the interwaves.
When I was a 9 year old kid and Deep Purple was my universe I used to dream that I'd win the Deep Purple Stays In Your Home In Sydney Competition and I could introduce the guys to mum and dad over Corn Flakes and perhaps help to heal the fractured relationship between Ian and Ritchie with some solid 9-year-old advice.
Alas, it was never to be. But hearing this classic track on the playlist of my favourite station warms my older-self heart. Fantastic to think Roger listens to RP and should he read this - you, your songs and your production shaped my life.
Great hats too.

We are recycling playlists, it happened again today.
Never heard this tune.
Great one to follow Senor Coconut's version of "Smoke on the Water"
Surely a deep track - from Deep Purple
