Hmm. Who, exactly, is Cosmo Sheldrake imitating? In my book he's pretty original, given that all popular music derives and borrows from other popular music. If you're looking for something completely new then do please post it here - I, for one, would be extremely interested to hear it.
Something new, that was what I was hoping for too.

Little Simz preceding this has a record number of 1 votes. This has hardly any, but I'm adding one.
Fantastic song! Unique voice, great backing vocals, terrific music!
Certainly not your average Joe.
Love it!

I think that's the second "Day of the Jackal" song I hear in 2 days. Not that I mind eh! The show was meh but the soundtrack was excellent :-)

I'm hearing a lot of Ink Spots in the vocals - especially the handoff from the baritone to the falsetto singers. As a huge Ink Spots fan, I also like this!
his voice has a super retro sound, like Fats Waller or Cab Calloway

Oh wow, what a voice, feels like should be all crackly and black and white.

Exactly. It’s called 90% imitation.
Just like Cosmo Sheldrake’s pathetic imitation sound. These folks have gone down the same weak path forged by Hollywood’s endless imitators.
Time for something new and actually creative.

I struggle to overcome my negative internal voice. I don't always succeed and sometimes it bleeds out to pollute the atmosphere. I wish you luck in your journey.

Only the quality of the recording gives away this song's era.
I had to look up to check that this wasn't Woodkid.

I get "Succession theme" every time I hear this. I do quite like the sound of this band and will check them out some more.
Luv it!
