Nice to hear this original!

As was often the case in the 50s (at least in The Netherlands) this song was translated into Dutch and that song hit the charts (as well?).
So it's the Dutch version I am familiar with. Never knew this one existed!

I loved this guy as a kid, now too. Guys like him and others from the Black communities were the foundations of evolving genres; the English took it and ran with it more than anyone else. But I sure didn't know this as a kid so now I appreciate them more than ever.

I love how in the era of this track, they just wrote these catchy little tunes; 3 minutes or less.  Just little musical snacks.  Not everything had to be a freakin' opus.

I've heard lots of versions of this song over the years, but you just can't beat the original. Yowza!
