Here comes the sun, doo doo doo doo.
Here comes the sun, and I say,
It's all right.

Little darlin', it's been a long cold lonely winter.
Little darlin', it feels like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, doo doo doo doo.
Here comes the sun, and I say,
It's all right.

Little darlin', the smiles returning to their faces,
Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, doo doo doo doo.
Here comes the sun, and I say,
It's all right.

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.

Little darlin', I feel that ice is slowly melting.
Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, doo doo doo doo.
Here comes the sun, and I say,
It's all right.

Bingo
How could I possibly rate this an 8 initially?!? ...and for those that think differently, please do consider it's live.

I believe you are thinking of John Lennon who was indeed killed by someone fitting that description.

You got that right. The version from the Concert for Bangaldesh is the best. There are some other great tracks from that concert where they totally hit it out of the ballpark. For example, the medley of Jumpin Jack Flash and Youngblood as performed by Leon Russell and Don Preston. That is a WOW track!

Dylan's set at that concert is also great. Wish I could find it in my streaming app.

I thought this was a bad cover. Nah, it's just a bad version of George himself :( what's with the flutes? And his voice? What happened to his voice?!
The first bars made me cringe... then it got (a little bit) better. But then I can't see myself rating him under 6 so...

His voice suffered from 3 packs of cigarettes a day since he was young.

It seems like years, indeed! Four, to be exact. Here comes the Sun.

Lives on in The New Number 2
The best part of this wonderful song are those last 2 bars or so where he walks a major chord to end it with a nice little lift. Like the effect of sunshine itself.
I named my little boy after Harrison. I really hope he's goes on to be as rich as George in all of the right things that matter!

Yes, my all time favorite Beatle as well.  So enjoyed the documentary on him, I think it was on Netflix.  Very much worth watching.  He was a good man and tried to do his best for this world.  He lived LOVE every day.
Aww, I needed this today!!!  Thank you!!

Yes, yes.
Tears rolling at the moment, and I have no idea why. Just the beauty of the song itself, I guess, and sad that George's life was so short.
I miss you, George.   Your spirit, humor, and music is eternal.  See you in the next life.

Is it just me or is BIll playing a lot more Beatles lately?

I'm totally good with that but just wondering if he's going through a phase :)

Not a dork at all, Cynaera.  George was always my favourite Beatle.  Always love your commentary!

In an aside:  I realize the American spell check does not approve of my stubbornly using British commonwealth spelling.  However, while I am not surprised that Beatles is considered a proper word, the singular is surprisingly viewed as a mispelling.

He could take something basic, something we pretty much take for granted, sunrise, and convert it into a paean of rebirth and joy. Moreso, given who he was and what he went through—I mean Beatlemania...really—that he could pull this one out of his hat in the middle of all that amazes me to this day.

I was just thinking along those lines, the wisdom conveyed in the simplicity...my first kid´s cot doll had this tune, my wife and I are from South America and we were living in London when he was born and the lack of sun killed us, so this was always a balm.
I have a graduation ceremony to attend tonight - outside. It's been raining, intermittently hailing, with possible lightning on the way. This song can't hurt the cosmic vibe. {#Sunny}

He looked so sad - no eye contact.... But watching him play, he dropped his left hand from the frets and then found the right chord immediately - such confidence in his abilities.

Well, George seems to give this a "toss off" treatment rather than the reverential preservation it deserves.  It's his song, however, and he can do with it as he pleases.  (I mean all of this in past tense, of course.)
