Don't ease, don't ease, don't ease me in.
I've been all night long comin' home, don't ease me in.

When I turned around sweet mama, she was way across town
So I'm walkin' down the street with a dollar in my hand
I've been lookin' for a woman sweet mama, ain't got no man.

The girl I love, she's sweet and true,
You the dress she wears, sweet mama, it's pink and blue,
She brings me coffee, she brings me tea,
She brings me 'bout every damn thing but the jailhouse keys.

IMO, Terrapin Station is by far and away their best studio album.
Well..Terrapin's got those awful orchestral movements plus that Donna song and dancin' in the streets (Yikes). All time favorite is Wake of the Flood.
Oh Jerry, say it ain't so. This is the first time I've heard this tune, and I sincerely hope its the last.

Why, oh why? Out of all the versions of this song available, why did you have to play the studio version? This is the WORST Dead album ever made. Even the Dead hate it!! If you want to play "Don't Ease Me In" find a good live version and play that. Please.
I am a huge Dead fan, but I have always disliked this song

Sorry, this is definitely one of their better "studio efforts". Every other albums is so inconsistence in terms of quality and songwriting. Go to Heaven at least sounds like an album worthy to be released (and you gotta dig that album cover shot in the white suits).

Point taken. I much prefer their live stuff (insert any Dick's Picks CD here) to their studio stuff. The album cover was pretty cool, that's for sure. Very ethereal.
Song works much better as an acoustic arrangement.
Don\'t eat green peas
Hey, I'm a Deadhead, and I love it...a fun, snappy tune!

You said it. This song sucks and I have been a Deadhead for almost 30 years.

Cy, I had forgotten about "Lost Sailor." That is a good tune.
