Meh — a little too clever.
I agree with some of the other comments.  Her songs are definately about the lyrics.

First heard her singing at the end of the film, "Random Hearts," and also wondered who she was and where she'd come from. That was a few years ago and now I have all her albums. Great guitar player who writes intelligent lyrics.

Hear first time now on RP today.
Not easy to get into the right mood, but the lyrics help. I agree, intelligent lyrics

+1 because she disses a poodle (that makes it a 2).

Hey—it's not the poodles' fault that their idiot owners groom them like that!

Michelle Shocked probably has Patty as an influence....Patty's been around a long while....

Michelle Shocked anyone?

Yeah, I thought the same. Sorta MS meets Lucinda Williams. Not bad, mind you.

I thought Michelle Shocked with lyrics by Suzanne Vega, myself.

Go Jonatha and Jennifer (The Story) on backups!  Not her best song, though. That whole cigarette line is pretty crappy.
{#Puke}
this is...yuck.

Way more smooth, refined, and sophisticated feeling than Michelle; that being said, doesn't change my appreciation for either - I like both of 'em.

That is what I thought. Sounded like Patty was at the Texas Campfire.
Now where did she come out from? Never heard he before... Pas mal du tout!
There are ALOT of words in this song. I think she said that she likes to drive around and make fun of men and then call them on the phone and make offensive breathing sounds. But, I can't blame her when she acts like a him??
Michelle Shocked anyone?
Awesome tune - sounds better live on \"A Gogo\"... and check out Perishable Fruit.
Nice. Don\'t know if she intended it, but there\'s more than a little of the Court and Spark-era Joni Mitchell embedded in this one.
more R&P (rhythm n poetry) !!!
Patty is great, especially live. Good, but just average for Patty.
Sounds vaguely like that new Susanne Vega song (actually, multiple songs). Not bad.
Most of the time I don\'t like Patty Larkin, but I like this song.
Lilith fair turns on..I turn off
