Night falls, and I'm alone
Skin, yeah, chilled me to the bone
You turned and you ran, oh yeah
Oh slipped right from my hand

Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead mans touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Don't bring you back
Blue on black
Oh yeah, blue on black

Blind, oh, now I see
Truth, lies, and in between
Wrong, cant be undone
Oh slipped, from the tip of
Your tongue

Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead mans touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Doesn't bring you back, yeah
Blue on black
Oh, blue on black
Oh, yeah

Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
Is a dead mans touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Don't bring you back
Blue on black
Oh yeah, blue on black

Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
Is a dead mans touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Doesn't bring you back
Blue on black
Oh, blue on black
Oh wha oh, blue on black
Oh, blue on black

Noah Hunt sang this, not sure if Kenny sings on any of his songs at all.
1997? 1997! Where has the time gone?

like most "modern country" it's pretty derivative of something else.

soooo dull....
yeah, Bad Company

Anybody else out there hearing a bit of Bad Company in this tune..or perhaps Lynyrd Skynyrd?  That's a good thing! Great tune!

I'll join you after taking a 6to8 trip!  Partly cuz I love when a good guitar player is self-taught and doesn't read music.  Long Live RP!!
Going to see KWS on the 18th. Can't wait.

Highly derivative. I understand this young man may be a talented guitarist, but this tune doesn't persuade. I didn't much like it when it came out 16 years ago. He's done more interesting things since. And cut his hair.

LOL YOU STUCK UP  NOB END
Reminds me of Big Head Todd and "Broken Hearted Savior" - not a bad thing.  Great player.
This came up for me when I pushed the PSD button today. Almost 4 years since last played.
I think I know what someone attempting to strangle a swan would sound like now.

Nice guitar solo.

LOVELY!
Always liked this - 8 {#Cowboy}
Saw KWS Band in Milwaukee this past spring. Can't believe what that guy can do with a guitar!!! {#Notworthy}
That boy can wail that thang!  Solid 8 from me.
Compare this with the mountains of C&W and it's average. Today's country is yesterdays R&R.
Fact is there is a lot of good country out there. Tons of old rockers went into country as they feel that being a 70 year old trying to look like a 25 year old just doesn't fly.
Interesting... I like the vibe of this tune and some spicy guitar is a bonus! {#Guitarist}
Liking this a lot.

My favorite KWS song. I must see him live. He is underrated IMO.

Worth seeing.  Caught him opening for Steve Miller when this album was new.
Judging by the length of time between comments, this doesn't get nearly enough RP airplay. A solid 9.
Solid 9 here! {#Notworthy}

A good song, ruined for me by covering this in a former band.

Band Manifesto rule #1 : NO cover songs. Ever.

Really?! The best rendition I ever heard of Prince's "1999" was by Big Audio Dynamite in concert at some nightclub in D.C. that's long since closed. Blew the seams off the place.

Yea this is one of those buddah songs that is just really hard not to like.{#Meditate}
Hell yes! Damn fine tune... Many thanks Kenny!

After all these years, I still can't believe I am hearing a teenager sing.  LOVE this song!

Kenny Wayne doesn't sing on this - it's Noah Hunt.  Kenny just plays the mean guitar, but he was a teen.

Hmm, a Clear Channel favorite.  Hearing it here only makes it better by about 1.5 points.

These guys like doing Mike Selby covers....he's from Kansas. Can't say that about too many song writers.

I'm guessin it has to do with the way Bill's song rotation software works.

If you spend long enough around here you start to pick up patterns like that.

Makes me another Official RP Geek.

WOW !!!!!
This guy is a natural.  His latest work is bullet proof.  Go to his web site and adulate, Please.

So, you're such a great guitarist that you can be all snarky about KWS? Tell us, oh master musician, where to find your music on Youtube or iTunes so we can all bask in your greatness!
Not the best song on the album, but still worth hearing. KWS is a talented young guitarist. He'll only get better, but he sure knows how to play some hot riffs, already. Keep in mind that this CD is like 10 years old.

Surprised to hear this, here. This one has actually gotten a fair bit of airplay here in the Mtns. Thought I'd accidentally tuned into the local station.

Beats the Skynyrd they play any day.

Very nice sound. {#Roflol}

My late husband found this cd after he divorced me, he played it for me on a date:)
so maybe the art of "jamming" isn't lost

KWS and Hubert Sumlin playing the Strand Theatre in Shreveport tonight in a medical fund-raising effort for Buddy Flett. Promises to be a smokin show.

Three names = Country Music or "Enlightened" married women. This doesn't sound like either.

I'm feeling this...great retro sound
Bill, can you squeeze some more off this album into play? Thanks!
His "Ten Days Out: Blues from the Backroads" is a great DVD. Hubert Sumlin wails on it. It got 5 stars on Amazon.
great tune! wasn't he about 16 when he wrote this one?
good voice..nice gritty sound.
Godlike! Saw Kenny Wayne Shephard and the band play with BB King a few years back. Phenomenal show.
HOT SONG
LOCAL BOY MAKES GOOD! and marries Mel Gibson's daughter...hmmmm.
1st time i heard this, goes to show that it's not enough to be great in the recordindustri, well you get my drift.Gonna look for it in my record shop, good service, they will order it.
Wow! That's new for me again, but I guess one will hear much more of that very promising rock band in the future! Many thanks, RP!
The first time I heard this I thought, finally, a new band that can rock!! I said I must get this CD. I've been hooked on KWS ever since!!!

fantastic song on a fantastic album....
Heard this a bunch on the radio back in the day, but haven't heard for quite awhile. Thanks RP! Good tune :)
Thank you, Bill!!!!!
Saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd with Double Trouble last year... Out of the 300 or so shows that I've been to... they don't get much more memorable than this.
can you say tubescreamer?
This is a good one!! Keep \'em coming!!!!
Pretty decent song, would love to hear more from Kenny Wayne.
Ok, so I admit I don\'t listen to commercial radio - ever. And I really like this song.
Oh please stop playing this song. If i dont hear it at the health club, its on several radio stations. NOT one of his better tunes
