Straight from 12th grade into junior college
Buddy, buddy, buddy I passed my exam
They're making me a law enforcement person
Got me a gun and a badge, I'm a man
Radar gun, radar gun
43 from where I was sittin'
30 miles an hour is the law of our land
Please remove your license, find your registration
And what is the name of your insurance man?
Radar gun, radar gun
I'm makin' money and I'm havin' fun
With my radar gun, radar gun
With my brand new radar gun
You know our Sheriff William Buckburger
Says our mayor's got a master plan
A new post gun means a cost of livin'
And one of them stoplights down on Grand
Radar gun, radar gun
I'm makin' money and I'm havin' fun
With my radar gun, radar gun
With my brand new radar gun
Schedule 19 on a special election
Got our money problems right in hand
Droppin' them limits like a hot potato
50 down to 30, oh man, oh man
Radar Gun, radar gun
I'm makin' money and I'm havin' fun
With my radar gun, radar gun
With my brand new Radar Gun
Brand new shiny Simmons Radar Gun
Me and my partner go patrol car cruisin'
On the parking lots at the shopping malls
Scanning those dashes, those mirrors and visors
The little detectors that ruin it all
Johnny got one on an '86 T-bird
Pull up slow just as close as I can
Milliwatt seconds on maximum output
We'll dust that puppy with one small blast
From my radar gun, radar gun
I'm makin' money and I'm havin' fun
With my radar gun, radar gun
With my brand new radar gun

Shades of Webb Wilder which means I love it. Good, Fun Rock N Roll!
Gets a 5 just for riff and drive.
Yeah! Rockin' out with The Bottle Rockets! Clay Rose, the singer of local favorite rockers, Gasoline Lollipops, also likes to use that scratchy, raspy microphone sound and angry, snarky singing style, especially when he sings things like, "I'd rather be here in jail than a fat, fucking COP!" and it's so retro and Johnny Cash-cool and I turn it way on up and love it even more! Go, RP!
Segued from Wilco's Casino Queen, where the "guest" guitarist Brian Henneman of the Bottle Rockets played as blisteringly as he does here.
Nice pairing William!

More Bottle Rockets please, Bill!.
Might I suggest Building Chryslers and Ship It On the Frisco from their last album. How about Zyosia?

Wore this one out..loving some STL rock, Brain Henneman is a super cool guy and they are still touring!
Cheese but like it.
Love the Bottle Rockets.
My fave is Welfare Music.
Gotta dig through and find this album again, come to think of it, I haven't seen it in a while.

Funny how things work out sometimes.
ooooh. i'd love that, too!
What a big piece of cheese is this song. I recommend playing "Convoy" by C.W. McCall after this. Then maybe "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

And he likes to shoot his gun...
But he don't know what it means,
Don't know what means...

...damn if this song doesn't just kick ass...

How can you not love a song with "milliwatt-seconds" in the lyrics? It rocks so much harder than if they'd said "millijoules".
I'm totally unashamed to have a silly smile on my face while I listen to this one.
Great guitar !!
Great

You lose.
I guess there is a reason I have never heard this song, see below ---->

Is that true? Can they zap the detectors sitting idle in a parking lot?
Entertaining rock. 7.
Fun, old-fashioned rock and roll. I sure do love my radar "detector that ruins it all."

Deep lyrics? Nope.
Virtuoso playing? Nope.
Hard rocking with a solid backbeat and toe-tapping fun? Yep!

It's like early AC/DC. A great riff, serviceable lyrics and a kick ass beat!
Every time this song begins, I think it's Live. But it never is.
Please play this song less.
Being eclectic and/or intelligent doesn't mean not liking good ol' rock 'n' roll.

P.S. And it's great following it with one of the all-time classic cruising songs "Hot Rod Lincoln" and Lindley's "Mercury Blues."
Time for the Review Channel!

Oh come on - pop this in while driving on the highway and you can't help but leadfoot it
horrible. yech.
The lyrics are kinda lame but the driving beat and guitars saves this song for me. It's not half bad.
This one is alright, but not good enough to warrant how often it is played.
Nice rocker. I don't think it's cliche. Sounds great! Nice theme as well.
Ok, dumb question: is this a take off on another song?
Wow. What a dumb song. And not in the fun sort of way. Just...dumb.
MT
this is cliche rock.
it's not that well done and it's annoying.
hey, if they are so good that they played
with steve earle, how about some steve earle?
now, HE'S the real deal!
Bottle Rockets are the real deal. They put on a great show and can really play. Saw them open for a Steve Earle acoustic show. For Steve\'s encore he brought the Bottle Rockets out and they went electric with the Bottle Rockets backing Earle on a ragged and dirty \"Dead Flowers\", among other songs.
Man, how am I gonna get any work done if you keep playing music I have to play \"desk drums\" to? Count me as a \"yes\" in the \"should we play it more?\" vote.
So, does playing:
Golden Earring - Radar Love
Morphine - Radar
Bottle Rockets - Radar Gun
mean somebody is a little sore about a recent ticket? ;) :p
I like this song a great deal. Good rhythm and guitar.
Sounds a bit like Reverend Horton Heat. Only less hard-edged. good stuff!
I'll take it!
