Infinitely better than whatever crap it is they call alternative these days.
Not the first to ever say this, I am sure, but I want a girlfriend as cool as Kim Deal (see Dandy Warhols). So does my wife. So do we all.

It's more Bo Diddly than "Cannonball" is.
Never. Gets. Old.
Now there's a sequence and transition you don't often hear - Buddy Holly's Everyday into Cannonball!  Holy smokes!

Hell, I hope you still like it at 63!
I still want to be as cool as Kim Deal...
I always think that opening is for a song from U2's Achtung Baby. Gets me every time.

@bobrk, You wrote this 15 years ago, do you still like it?  I do!

I learned this on bass.  Super fun to play, but shreds the fingers
Absolutely part of the sound of my high school years!

That's not nice of you, and besides, a .22 feels like a toy. Any other questions?
Kim Deal - the real deal.
Not a masterpiece, but very wild :-)
Any song with an average rating over 7.5 should automatically gain an 11 rating column!!

If you're gonna write lyrics for a rock band, I think it helps to be stoned, stupid or badly concussed. No one listens to the words in hope of deep wisdom.

Stupid people tend to write stupid lyrics, so that may not help much.  Stoned, maybe - I guess it depends on the subject matter.  I don't know if you've ever had a concussion, but maintaining consciousness is challenging enough, writing lyrics may not be easy.  Some people pay attention to the lyrics, but as you know, it depends on the artist - some artists impart more wisdom than others.

Kinda Liz Phair-y (in a good way).

1993. Like it from the radio, buy the CD. Tower Records, Seattle.

Bill is on fire today!  Go RP. Love this tune.
Never get tired of this song ...
Great song that typifies my college years. And probably responsible for at least some of my tinnitus.
It's "... this reggae song ..." Not "sad ... song"
Wonderfully weird.

I really don't mind this song but my dog quickly left the room at the beginning.  Thanks for the great variety Bill.

I' m from Cordoba, Argentina. This song remembers me the teen`s days: my friend and I listening some music, discussing and dreaming about future (and girls)...
I saw the Breeders on a sunny day at a Lollapalooza Festival in Mountain View, CA back in the 1990's. They were having fun. The crowd having fun. Rock-n-roll should be fun. The Breeders are proof. YAY!

Not a very good song, i'm pretty tired of it. Thankfully, I don't think I was listening to this type of music when the song was actually out on the radio.

The first time I ever heard this song, it was on a demo cd that was being handed out at Daytona Beach when I was there on Spring Break.  Most of what was on that cd was absolute crap, but this song really caught me.  I had that cd for 12 or 13 years before it (as well as about 70 other cds) was stolen out of my car, along with my cd player (had it for 2 weeks, if that), laptop, and an old leather jacket.  Welcome to Toledo, Ohio, there goes your stuff.

I suppose that's what I get for leaving that in my car over a single night.  Where I grew up you could leave your wallet on the dash and the windows down and no one would even think about taking it.

Where's Romeo?  Did s/he finally get kicked out of a Las Vegas hotel?  ps. great tune.
I'll party with you Romeo, where's my drink?

As cool as Kim deal. There's a definite Dandy Warhols vibe about this one. No' bad. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

Is the intro to the song from the Wizard of Oz?  It kind of sounds like the soldiers at the Wicked Witch's castle...

I'm not sure how old your parents are, but "Wooly Bully" was not really considered a "cool" tune by most cool people of that era.  It was a "novelty", pop song.  If you are proud of what you consider your "extreme uncoolness", that's fine.  As a great lyricist once wrote: "that's what it's all about".  I think this is a great tune, personally.
Love the trippy bass line. Wonder if Nikki Monninger of Silversun Pickups borrowed a little inspiration here

Thanks for playing this song!

I have to fly to Minneapolis for the 20th time this year for work and I really just want to stay home. SO not in the mood for the TSA!!

Cannonball made me smile     {#Mrgreen}
The beginning of this had my cat freakin' out. Then the music started and she went back to stalking the birds through the window. Catchy tune, the birds are safe.
Holy nostalgia! This song was such a *huge* part of the soundtrack of my 20s
