Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around
Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around
Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me

love it, but can only give it a 7 because it pales in comparison with the original.

Still mad I scratched her CD!!

Beautiful song, lovely, haunting. The real deal. Splendid!
With a voice like that, I trust her.

Just trust in her! Trust her. I'll back it. You won't lose a penny.
Lovely trip, this song.
Trust me.

Gosh Damn with an exclamation point.
Her other songs are way better than this!!!
Still mad I scratched her CD!!
amazing.. I just filed away a new CD I just bought and it happened to be next to next to another CD I hadn't heard yet, so I brought it down to play... it is Sarah Aranella - Trust In Me, and guess what starts playing in RP as I bring it down.
I like it. Had it on a complication CD and a date pointed out it was a Disney song.
Of Her family, i think that Susheela could be considered the "top" Raman

I wish I could find a copy of the old Jungle Book LP with the story pages inside the album cover. Mine seems to have disappeared. My little boy (now 38) and I wore that thing out!
I remember this song from my younger years, when it was sung by Kaa, on the album of the Jungle Book (you know, Mowhli, Balou and the others). A lot of good songs on that album

Gonna have to look out for that! Thanks
I like Siouxsie & the Banshees version so much more!!!!!

Snakey
Not the best song of this album. But I love this artist. Specialy in live.

I like this. Reminds me a bit of Caro Emerald. Among so many great artists I've "discovered" on RP!

This is an incredible album. After hearing several songs here on RP, I purchased it. Well worth the moolah.

I love this version.
You might as well play Louis Prima's "I wanna be like you" from the Jungle Book (it rocks) for continuity of the theme

I'm listening and thinking - WHY does this sound so familiar? GREAT idea to cover this. Hissssssssssssss.
Ha! Love it.
Who in their right mind would have thought of covering this song?? And then to turn around and do it so darned well. Excellent.
I'm looking for the emoticon that does the dance of the seven viels...
...no? oh, okay...

Well worth the moolah.
There are better versions. Siouxsie Sioux's, for example.

Actually, it was Kaa, the boa constrictor. Geez people, get your anthropomorphized two-dimensional Disney animal characters straight!
Make that 100x better. Messes up a beautiful song.
Her voice is thin and weak. Holly Cole's version is 10x better.
RP - The art of sequence (Portishead, Mancini and this...)- Thanks Bill

Uck... What's next the Bare Necessities? Brutal...
reminds me of the caterpillar's song in Alice in Wonderland...Aeiouuuuuuu

It is probably easier to model a boa constrictor as a one-dimensional spline.
Anyways,
Good to hear this set again. I liked it the first time, I liked it the next time.
Sorry, let me clarify. "I wanna be like you" was sung by King Louie the Ape in Jungle Book. "Trust in me" was sung by Kaa the snake in the same movie.

Clever, but I find the voice inadequate and rather thin; it reminds me of Edie Brickell's.

Nice - but where does BillG find this stuff?
Very weird thread running here:
BD's ...ANIMALS
SNAKESONG
then TRUST IN ME
kinda GARDEN/EDEN thing. Nice.

Yes, by Kaa the Snake

A "Sterling" voice!
Finally put my finger on it, feels like something from a Disney Movie, like a scene from Aladdin.
Edit:
Oh, it was Jungle Book, thanks Anires! (guess I should have read back even further in the comments and the mystery would have been solved sooner - oh well)
Jungle Book being one of my fave Diz flicks I am stoked to hear this remake. ~applaud~
Not bad, but personally much rather prefer Siouxsie's cover of this.
Not crazy about this one, but do appreciate the segway from Emmylou Harris' "Snake Song".
Great segue after 'snake song'
i saw her in concert last year and she was really super.
i like this song! very relaxing.

Yeah! the monkey song, the monkey song!!!!
Nice!
Don't complain! As covers go, this is a huge improvement over Dolly Parton's repugnant rendition of Collective Soul's "Shine" played earlier today. I couldn't eat for hours. After this creative take, however, I'm feeling a bit...hungry.
P.S. I'm with daveh25 -the Louis Prima I Wanna Be Like You slays Los Lobos' effort.
I love this version.

Strangely appealing.
It took me a while to figure out why this song sounded so distantly familiar. I think it is pretty funny how she can reach back to something like this and have it basically fit in with current world beat portfolio.
This is a pretty good version but Holly Cole's version reigns supreme.
Appealing and irritating by equal measures.
can we have the Los Lobos version of "I Wanna Be Like You" next? pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase??
My dog is howling!!! Make it stop!
My ears are bleeding, is that normal??
Is "Bear Necessities" next... #-o
Sounded better with the snake singing it! :(
one word: why?
Wow... what a voice.
"This is the song the boa constrictor sings to Mowgli in the Jungle Book!"
Thanks! It was driving me crazy! "Hmmm, which Disney flick is this from?"
I couldn't get anything done at work til this conundrum was cleared.
This is the song the boa constrictor sings to Mowgli in the Jungle Book!
Freaky man, I feel I'm going under........
It\'s rare I turn down the volume while listening to RP, but this is hurting my ears!
