As there is a very need combining western medicin,TWM, with traditional far eastern one, TCM, there is a very need combining this kind of music with our ones in this area of the world!

Love this! New member of the community here and so far I'm digging the wide variety of musical exposition. 

As a multi-cultural person I've always enjoyed many different kinds of music. I've enjoyed other Tibetan music in the past but had not previously heard Yungchen's music. 

This discovery on RP led me to check out her other work on Spotify and I am LOVIN it.

Quite enjoyable, and a good counterpoint to the Western-style music generally played here. This is exactly why I listen to Radio Paradise- variety, unique choices, and a wide ranging sphere of influences. Glad this is on the list. Like many others here, this is part of why I listen to RP.

I KNEW when I heard this song played that there would be a multitude of negative opinions voiced. What IS interesting to me is how I read in many comments about a U2 or Beatles or Stones song how RP needs to play the different, not the normal \"classic rock\" tunes. Then, when you hear something like Yungchen Lhamo, you read complaints. Well, I say, MAKE UP YOUR MIND. If you want to be challenged, be challenged. Listen to something non western once in a while... learn how to hear the music between the notes. You don\'t have to like it, obviously, but until you can learn to HEAR it, don\'t judge it. RP SHOULD challenge listeners with music like this... please keep it up.

Hmmm... many polar opinions. I like it, but y\'know, whatever. But I think that one thing influencing the opinions is the fact that asian music doesn\'t use the same intervals in their scales that western music does. And therefore, we aren\'t \"trained\" to hear it as pleasant, or emotional, or anything... it just feels foreign. When the chromatic scale first started to be used in the west, many had very strong negative reactions to it. But now we are \"trained\" to not hear the slight compromise frequencies as dissonant... Just a thought.

I appreciate the opportunity (through RP) to hear this type of music. That said, I think once or twice is about all the times I'd care to hear this particular cut.

Different from the norm. If I was making a movie I'd use it as part of the soundtrack to set the mood. But since I'm not making a movie I'll just politely listen and enjoy the exposure to something less Western. Wish I knew what she was saying. Interesting side note - according to AMG she's appeared with Natalie Merchent.

Hmmm... I like the way the comments about this song are either: \"This sucks\" or \"Cosmopolitan = Good\". I\'m in the latter camp but would point out that anything that broadens the experience and appreciation of music is a good thing, even if the conclusion is still - this sucks. :)

Beautiful music. I spent a great deal of my childhood living throughout Asia and as a consequence my sense of music, art, design etc. have been permanantly shaped by that influence. Please play more!

I'm sure that Yungchen is a wonderful woman and her support of the Tibetan refugees is admirable. This song would play marvelously on a World Music station.

Different, but nothing I would normally listen to or buy.

At first I thought it was Indian music, then I thought it might be Chinese music. Then I found out it was Tibetan, which is just about as right in the middle as you can get. I really like this...
