Well, lucky number seven passed me by
Lucky number seven called my name and passed on by
Well he came back don't you know
With his brother six in tow
And that is how number thirteen wound up at my side

And that is how I got these lonesome Johnny blues
How I got these lonesome Johnny blues
Got the lonesome Johnny blues
And there's nothing I can do
'Cept sing these sad old weary lonesome Johnny blues

Here we go

Grim reaper he pulled up into my drive
Grim reaper pulled his little old chevrolet right up onto the goddamn drive
Johnny, I haven't come up for you
But I want someone who's dear to you
And the price you pay is to remain alive

And I'll stay here with these lonesome Johnny blues
Stay here with these lonesome Johnny blues
With the lonesome Johnny blues
And there's nothing I can do
'Cept sing these sad old weary lonesome Johnny blues

Woah, no more trouble send him down the road, won't you please.
No more trouble won't you beat him up, won't you send him down the road
Trouble dumped out the trash
Ransacked the place for cash
And he wound up taking much more than I own

And he left me with these lonesome Johnny blues
Left me with these lonesome Johnny blues
With the lonesome Johnny blues
And there's nothing I can do
'Cept sing these sad old weary lonesome Johnny blues

Johnny blues
The sad old weary lonesome Johnny blues
Johnny blues
The sad old weary lonesome Johnny blues

"...one occasionally finds oneself at."  ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£
That's the evenest distribution of ratings I've ever seen here...from 1 through 8 all highly represented.
Todd Snider would have done a better job with this song.

Yes I would sing this one at karaoke too!
why are you hurting my ears with this nonsense?
I want the karaoke version! Seriously!
I've always liked this album in general and this song in particular. It doesn't take itself too seriously.
Just terrible... PSD

Lonesome Johnny is one of the best guitarists playing today, bar none. His live shows are absolutely splendid.

Agreed! I was completely floored by the ease and joy with which he wielded his axe. A real showman.
Grim Reaper pulled his little old Chevrolet right up into the goddamn drive; one of the coolest lines in all of Rock! and Johnny JAMS guitar!
dang Bill - there's no danger of RP getting labeled as this type of station or that type of station is there? {#Cowboy}

I don't like everything new I hear - but hearing new tracks to love is something I like very much.

Keep up the good work!
Glad that's over!
Awesome
Next song please
Can't help but be reminded of Smokey and The Bandit..... :|
