It's just a change in me
Something in my liberty
Oh, my, my
Happiness
Coming and going
I watch you look at me
Watch my fever growing
I know just where I am
But how many corners do I have to turn?
How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind?
Well, I'm a lucky man
With fire in my hands
Happiness
Something in my own place
I'm standing naked
Smiling, I feel no disgrace
With who I am
Happiness
Coming and going
I watch you look at me
Watch my fever growing
I know just who I am
But how many corners do I have to turn?
How many times do I have to learn
All the love I have is in my mind?
I hope you understand
I hope you understand
Gotta love that'll never die

Ah - always good for the Soul; now a classic.
Indeed our friend, balm for the soul.
If this isn't their best song , I'm going to have to go back and listen to their early catalog... because this is, and always has been, my favorite song on the Urban Hymns album.
YES!
this one and "This Time" are my favs on this album. i have a ton of their cds as well as ashcroft's releases. i just loved this time period of music. it opened my eyes to a lot and i know i'm sentimental about it because of what was happening in my life personally...music really can take you vividly back in time.
Yeah, don't get it. Arranger did well.

Tired of being the life of the party?
Change your shorts, change your life, change your life
Change into a nine-year-old Hindu boy, get rid of your wife,
Agreed completely, to the point that I only listen to the album in its entirety. I think it's officially in my top 10 now. 👍
Yes!!!
great set here:
Delays-Wanderlust
The Sundays-Here's where the story ends
Verve
Pirate moon-Thea Gilmore. Good but not on the level of the last 2
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds-Shoot Me down
the timing of this set tonight....Bill, you're killing me here. I was just about to turn on Game of Thrones and then this set started.
The North must wait.
This^ 11 for sure.
There's often a reason that cliche's become cliche'.
I didn't know they had any other songs.
love this song...
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes." —Charles R. Swindoll
Yes this is absolutely true. Call it attitude, call it state of mind ..... but it is a choice. How we react and choose what to focus upon is our choice. And the better we choose the better we BE. Try it and see. And have fun doing it

Sounds to me like he owns a whole bunch of Billy Joel albums too.
Shame on you Fred!

This is quite nice - a solid 7 - which is good enough.
I agree...

Thank Him for luck? Perhaps not. For His blessing, definitely!
Still, nice music.
Got to remember to thank THE MAN for that.

The Man... you're talkin' about Bill, yeah?
Wait, sorry forgot. Only RP plays the good stuff. Thank you RP, like my Bose headphones you never disappoint
Got to remember to thank THE MAN for that.
Ditto
second that. just bumped it up and the speakers went up a notch (or a few) as well
The pig-man still haunts me.
Actually, I believe it was a sheep-man, but yes that scene was quite a shocker and stayed with me as well!
bumping it, I agree !

9 to 10.
Yes, that's the first thing I thought— flat, then sharp. Still, I loved it back in the day...
I've just bumped it to 8!
Actually - it would sound just like a continuation - being the same style of song with the same vocalist.
For this era The Verve & Catherine Wheel, along w/ Oasis. Great stuff.
Yep. Self-fulfilling prophecy... Love this song!
I love the combo of acoustic, electric and strings. My fave off this album.
And for a little symmetry, Bill played ELP's "Lucky Man" 13 hours ago.
bet she wants to write something - anything lol
I hope you understand lol

Totally agree.

Couldn't be more wrong.
Lame comparison is more like it. Back to the swamp with ya.
At least in the swamp, we don't write one song, change the lyrics and call it two ....
Good god, stop the blasphemy, The Peppers were one of the most talented rock bands I ever listened!!!

Great simile, albeit an impossible one.
This song would be insipid even if it had a melody.
