For all these different days yeah, these autumn ways
Will slowly disappear
Will slowly fall apart
Drifting slowly, drifting clear
And all I want is, a little heart
A different point of view yeah, a different start
No time for feeling old
No time for feeling blue
No time for wasting what we know
Look for ocean walls, to gaze upon
These distance stars yeah, these distance suns
Are all the reasons
Are all the reasons
The only season in my life
And all I want is, a little heart
A different point of view yeah, a different start
No time for getting old
No time for feeling blue
No time for wasting what we know
Look for ocean walls, to gaze upon
These distance stars yeah, these distance suns
Are all the reasons
Are all the reasons
The only season in my life
YES,!!
Great description!
it's like watching "Endless Summer" while listening to Nick drake.
YES,!!
Invokes a SMILE..... 8
One of the most perfect songs ever, and just like the changing of the seasons, I never get tired of it... By the way, it seems obvious that we've gone into new territory -- we never used to need air-conditioners at all here in Boulder, and definitely not at night... Temperatures used to drop right off! Sometimes we'd have to get up and close the window in the middle of the night, even in summer! We used to freak out if it went over 90 degrees F even mid-summer; tomorrow, July 18, 2022, it will go over 100! Fingers crossed, it hasn't been as hot and dry as the last couple summers so far, but...it's not cooling off at night like it used to, and if the daily afternoon showers dry up, we're going to be in big trouble! Thankfully, Boulder Creek still offers its accessible, bracing pools and rapids all along its amazing path through town! There is another stream that I hope never dries up -- Radio Paradise!

Or watching Shelter while listening to Neil... ;D
That's the Cynaera factor..........a simple insight with layers of meaning.
One of the best songs to mark The Seasons, for sure. With everything in local and global realms still stuck in such disconcerting sideways flux, it catches me more grateful than ever to be getting dug back in here, hearing this brilliant composition with dazzling January sunlight beaming in through the big windows, seeing the snow melting off the tops of The Flatirons across the street, grooving along in the quantum-entangled streams of The RP Universe. And now, if I can tear myself away, I shall go stomp my way up the incline onto Kohler Mesa for a more-proper Standard Orbit assessment of it all.
get back to work
Can you clarify your remark?
He just wants to troll the board, so you will never get a straight answer out of it.
rubbish, in so many ways.....

I have a set of (upgraded to first class in 1980's) Canadian Pacific Airlines coasters featuring the exact mirror image wave in Japanese art. Odd......
BTW never grow tired of either.
Like these?

Some things are eternal.
Reminds me of White Bird by it's a Beautiful Day.

Yes!
When I was in HS there was a gentleman who lived about 4 blocks away. He was a nuclear physicist and a M.D. His job was to make sure that the nuclear ships where safe before they went into commission. I was told by his son that he would get in screaming matches with Rickover,. Some of which where in the halls of the Pentagon. This makes Rickover's change of view even more interesting.
I had no idea how odd my neighborhood was. A guy who lived two doors away was busy building the first search system (engine) at the same time. It was at the the Library of Congress.
Look after the king of R n R please
Agreed. If he were still alive, he'd probably sound a lot like this.
Just chillin' . . .
Worx most of the time.
Perfect surfing song
Rickover was known to have shouting matches in the middle of the Pentagon halls with Dr. Walsh. Who was responsible for the health of the nuclear navy. Walsh was a MD and a Ph. D. in nuclear physics. Just one of the characters who lived in my neighborhood.
Perfect surfing song
Both songs have chord progressions which are descents a tone apart (i.e., D-C and G-F). Many songs throughout history have used that progression. It's far from "completely stolen". "Influenced by"? - probably.
Just chillin' . . .
this song's a gem.

Very chill song. Peace Ann!
The world was a little better when you were here with us.

Had to comment here though.
Beautiful tune.
God bless you Bill.
I enjoy that kind of voice.....
... but at least in juxtaposition to the idea of an Endless Summer.
Paints the picture perfectly.
CJ - I like that writing!
Such a quiet beauty to this song. Love that subdued sax.
I'm with you, phlattop!
hey, my top 40, Katy Perry loving 12 year old likes this song. The world could use another Nick Drake or two versus another Miley/rihanna/ manufactured singer type.

No punishment there in my book. Music done well comes in all forms—I'm not sure what problem you have with sensitivity and breath.
In geological terms, yes.
That's too bad that your friends don't listen to RP.
I'd say I've turned a good number onto this place...sing its praises every chance I get...
I'm thinking Nick Drake....
Very cool/groozy sound. I was thinking it could be 1969, but alas, the album came out in 2002.

Remember me the Crowded House !
I'll never chat with you about a movie I have never seen . . . .
New research is showing that generally people who are told the way a movie ends enjoys the movie more.
So true..
Great song. I've used it in quite a few mix cd's/playlists I've made for friends and pretty much all of them ask me about this song...
