Well, you've seen it ten times before
I thought that you had it down
With both your feet on the ground
I love slow, slow but deep
Feigned affections wash over me
Dream on, my dear
And renounce temporal obligations
Dream on, my dear
It's a sleep from which you may not awaken
You build me up then you knock me down
You play the fool while I play the clown
We keep time to the beat of an old slave drum
You raise my hopes then you raise the odds
You tell me that I dream too much
Now I'm serving time in disillusionment
I don't believe you any more
I don't believe you
I don't believe you any more
I don't believe you
I thought that I knew it all
I'd seen all the signs before
I thought that you were the one
In darkness my heart was won
You build me up then you knock me down
You play the fool while I play the clown
We keep time to the beat of an old slave drum
You raise my hopes then you raise the odds
You tell me that I dream too much
Now I'm serving time in a domestic graveyard
I don't believe you any more
I don't believe you
Never let it be said I was untrue
I never found a home inside of you
Never let it be said I was untrue
I gave you all my time, I gave you all my time
Whoa?
Sounds so much like The Doors & Neil Diamond had a discussion of influences and atmosphere.
Great vibe.
Definitely a Doors' influence, but still on their own unique journey.

Great vibe.
Sounds like the Doors minus the God awful organ they used.
^5 Absolutely.
I'll be the party pooper... I don't find his voice similar to Jim Morrison's
You're right. It's smoother and more on key. Same pitch tho.
Listen to Jimbo singing Hyacinth House as a comparison.
Great comparison!
"Hyacinth House" was a huge favorite of mine, as a secret 'breakup' song for my controlling, jealous and 'morally superior' girlfriend (SMC) way back when I was in my early 20s. Boy did she hate The Doors and loath The Lizardking, and all the "hippie shit" that came with Doors' music and culture that I was diggin'.
This Dead Can Dance tune is impressive in how good it sounds and I love the dark context of the lyrics' deep meaning; this one's a 9.
LLRP
Dead Can dance, Cocteau Twins...great stuff...This Mortal Coil ....
All 4AD bands IIRC
Not tonight, dear. You're giving me a headache.
Who is Mr. Lovegrove...and why is he everywhere? And as a side-note is it he that is so clearly into the S&M scene...or just watching? Hmmmm?

Or maybe Morrison is the one dancing?
The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove:
Episode from Secret Agent from Britain:
After a driving accident, Drake finds he has a £500 gambling debt at a club he has no knowledge of, yet the staff seem to know him, and the club's manager, Mr. Alexander knows all about Drake's career with M9, and plans to blackmail him.
But sometimes you need these kind of emotions.
need to hear this guy scream/roar .. that'll be the real test
Same reaction, so I opened this comments page and typed "Morrison" into my search bar. It reads 1 of 17 matches.
'Nuff said.

Definitely sounds like Jim Morrison.

today, on maths with RP...
I have not been able to decode this song's lyrics either. But the title is an exact match for a particularly hallucinogenic episode of the British spy series Danger Man, seen on ITV in the 1960's.
I've always thought it was about a Dom/sub relationship

Fabulous music (sounds like a fabulous time : )
I agree; this singer's got a deep voice and is reciting the lyrics the way Morrison often did, but he doesn't really sound like Morrison much more than he sounds like Neil Diamond.
Now THAT can be changed....
weird but good. deserves investigation
I think a lot of their catalog would fit that description. And that's a good thing.
....brilliant!
Yes Oh Yes!

I think it's more the delivery and overall feel of the song. It's got hints of The End and When the Music's Over.
How times change. Drake was blackmailed for a £500 gambling debt....
weird but good. deserves investigation
And Nick Cave--in this particular song.
As I Jim Morrison fan I’ve always liked the sound of his voice but I find the whiplash sound affect that’s added to the beat irritating after the first few seconds.

I don't know... Lovegroove works, too. Just sayin'
My thoughts exactly. Not a bad thing.
My VERY first thought. If they had more techno instruments back then the music could sound like this. Great voice.

Everybody in my church loves this song... we be slow dancing...
In some cases, he sounds like Frank Sinatra.
Mr. Lovegroove is right!
I never did figure out who Mr Lovegrove was, and why he was so ubiquitous...
