I started looking and the bubble burst
I started looking for excuses
Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
That I started looking for a warning sign
When the truth is I miss you
Yeah, the truth is that I miss you so
A warning sign, you came back to haunt me and I realized
That you were an island and I passed you by
When you were an island to discover
Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
That I started looking for a warning sign
When the truth is I miss you
Yeah, the truth is that I miss you so
And I'm tired, I should not have let you go
So I crawl back into your open arms
Yes I crawl back into your open arms
And I crawl back into your open arms
Yes I crawl back into your open arms
I reckon if he really misses Gwyneth he just can buy one of her candles.
Hahaha! Brilliant!

ROTFLMAO
Their first 2 albums really are top notch - their next batch of albums had highlights, but many meh/formulaic songs scattered, and their last lot of albums haven't given me any reason to invest time in re-listening after giving them a go.... Their drop is such a shame, but yeah, thanks for the good-to-great output guys - both albums are still on rotation nowadays 👍
Agree. Same goes to REM, U2 etc. etc. No more innovations.
They're that houseguest who can't read the room and overstays the welcome.
By about six months, in relative terms.
17 years ago I lost my wife and this song still brings tears to my eyes.
I miss you. and I'm tired.
I jumped on here to write something blatantly disrespectful of the band when I saw your post and it caused me to pause and reflect. I love my wife dearly and if she were gone, well . . . I'm not sure I how I would go on.
Music makes such a strong connection in the mind, heart, and soul. If this song brings you peace, then peace to you my brother.
Respect.
I miss you. and I'm tired.
Hang in there, Corbu.
I miss you. and I'm tired.
While the comments section here is the place to comment on what you think of a song, good or bad... remember comments like this when you go to pen something about how embarrassing or shitty you think a song is.
So much less annoying to all of those who like each song (and if Bill plays it, you know many/most will like it) if you can be constructive with what you don't like. Or better yet, like your momma hopefully told you, "if you can't say something nice..."
A 9 in my book.
I miss you. and I'm tired.
Sorry for your loss. Hang in there and push forward, it's all we can do.
Too bad......
This one however: 9
Exactly!
I miss you. and I'm tired.
I'm not a big fan of the band but "hate" is somewhat extreme - one wastes a lot of energy when they go around "hating" things. These guys had some good songs; this one's pretty cool.
I like this song very much. Hah! There's another one out here.
Not to mention beautifully rendered.
My buddy put this on his annual compilation disc he burns for 2002. He sends one out to everyone at the end of each year.
It's OK, but I still prefer "The Scientist".
(ducks under desk for expected flying debris)
Yes, all hail to censorship, right? Like in the old days, when one was hung from a tree for saying his/her opinion!
YOU do not like it, so one else should like it or listen to it , right!
Cos YOU say whats worth listening to and what not! And who made you God?
Geez, sometimes when I read the postings here I wonder if I am really living 2016, and not 1616!
At that time, coldplay was not so popular. I liked them then and now.
Mr. Positive!
Too bad......

Exactly what I feel.

Elko?
In a recent Newsweek article, Coldplay front man Chris Martin explained his inferiority complex to label mates Radiohead. "We're like an eager dog just yapping around their heels, and they're trying to kick us away," he joked. "It's like unrequited love. I'm in love with a lot of things. Some of those things love me back. And some of them don't — and one of them is Radiohead."
They probably won't ever top this album, but that shouldn't detract from it.
Dear sweet garlicky Iaweh, if this is their high point, then how does it get worse?
...smiling agreement!
You are what...?

Getting duller all the time
Hear hear!!!!
The stuff they are doing now— sorta lame and soulless.
THIS, though, is great. At least a 7. I give it a 9.
But now I just can't seem to care for them.
Hardly......
Agree with you about the song, not so much about the band. I think that the number of good tunes these guys have made exempts them from the suckage category.

This is a good song by a pretty good band that has been picked on maybe a little too much.

I find myself listening to Parachutes a lot lately. It's interesting to compare it to Viva la Vida. Parachutes has some gorgeous songs. "Sparks" melts me every time. But I guess that's for another message board.
Dead on!
