I loved Deep Forest since their first album in the early 90's.  They are definitely a strong vibe and I can see many peeps liking or disliking them.
don’t see very many ratings charts shaped like that

Because it's an Average instead of a Mean. The ones drag down the average; but if you look at the highest vote (7), it's more respectable.

Uhhhh... I'm pretty sure average and mean are the same thing. Do you mean average vs. median?
Interesting song. You definitely won’t hear this on any other station.

Good night! How does this have an average rating of 5.4? This plus a strong cup of decaf coffee and I'm finally ready to start the day.

Turn in your gun voluntarily.
Can't stand still!

Yes! Upbeat world/Indian music. Love when RP takes us to different music in the world. This is a good example of why I listen.

Call me ignorant (in this case I cetainly am), but how is this piece from a French group Indian? I can tell that it isn't in Ionian or Aeolian modes, but is there something specifically Indian about this piece of music?

and yes, I know that they released an album of Indian fusion music with Rahul Sharma in 2013 - but this is not from that album
Vocals - bleucch. Hammered dulcimer - great. Fairly good all in, typically quirky RP fare
No emotion in it, just technique and skill. Somehow sterile.
Where'd they go, where'd they go, where'd they go - where?
Whoa Nelly!
Go away!

I just sprayed coffee out my nostrils when I read this! Too funny!
Great! I never heard of them before. Thank You RP!

you still crack me up Dude! to me this has elements of a bad cell phone ring

LOL this is my first listen and I am trying to objectively decide what I think about this..... and your comment made me snort.
surprised at that low rating
wow, french people really have good compositional skills. Fusion of best sounds from around the world. I liked the santoor like sounds particularly.
Dude sounds like he's falling down the steps...
Almost lovely, but too manic and thus irritating. I'm not surprised it has such low ratings.
I really Like this. I used to listen to a lot of Hearts of Space back in the day then I got turned onto RP back in 2006 or so. I still have some HofS cd's but this is the very reason I love RP.  Many thanks Bill and Rebecca!  I swear I heard a hammer dulcimer in there somewhere...
Reminds me a bit of Juno Reactor. I do like some Psytrance style.
Definetly polarizing opinions on this track it seems. Gets an 8 from me.
Psychedelic morning to you too, Bill

Easy 9 from this wide eyed lil piglet
I think he is playing it backwards
now this is some annoying music
Wow, lot's of people don't get this, I've been waiting for some Deep Forest on RP. Of course I was not to be disappointed! Love this album.

yes, and disagree.
Perfect COVID walking music.
I'll be hummin' this all night.
I like this much better than that Afro-Celt nonsense.

It would be better if Yoko Ono were doing the vocals.
Rising with this and most of your Eclectic / World / Deeply-Rich music, thank you RP!
Better than Britany.

Nah, I like it.
I feel like I'm being aurally raped here.
That's pretty wild :-)

OK, I give up. Bill digs this World Fuzak stuff and we're just gonna have to live with it. We love him anyway.

Oooh. I like.
So much time for this song. And all the comments.

It's fun, people!
This song is SO BAD.  Please make it stop.
word?
This is different
New Age meets klezmer
Funny!{#Lol}
At first I thought this was Talking Heads taking the piss.
whoa, takes me back to those modern dance classes in college...
I dig it!
I think this is what the CIA plays 24 hours a day to hostage takers to grind down their will to resist. 60 seconds worked for me. I surrender
Deep sucking chest wound. It makes me want to become a logger.
This is painful. . .

If RP is a smorgasboard, then this song is the cold peas in the salad bar. I feel like I'm supposed to like it because it's on the menu. "Dad? Do I have to? Can I just have pizza? I don't CARE if this is good for me."
couldn't have said it better myself. hee.
This is definitely not a favorite track of mine, but I still like this CD nonetheless.
This sounds very similar to the background music which is played in some levels of Unreal Tournament 2004...
If this is what they serve up at Cafe Europa, I'll stick to the diners in the States.
Seems as DF is really hit or miss...with alot of misses...
Blech... they serve some pretty yucky stuff at this Cafe Europa.

I like DF, but not this track. With a 4.8 rating, what's that tell ya?
People are scared to score it as low as it deserves?

In the grade inflated world of RP, the rating for this song says it all. Pull it!
I thought this piece (Cafe Europa by Deep Forest) was titled 'Butterfly' - so who does the music titled Butterfly ? TMGAL
This marching ant stuff is really good for workout music and that's about it, IMHOP.
Rings of that Mark Knopfler tune off of SHOT AT GLORY...(Nice)
Sounds both Israeli and Indian, at the same time. Vocals have that Indian (Eastern as well as Native American) sound. Very different. Not bad.
Pretty interesting blend of cross-cultural sounds....and I dig the bass rush that sounds like a braying bull
Taken out of the context of the album, this song sounds a little out of place here. If you listen to the whole thing, the songs blend nicely together.
I really enjoy this CD. Other than this song, I'd also recommend "Freedom Cry" or Bulgarian Melody". Perhaps they would get higher ratings on RP.
Captain Beefheart curry - YUK!

.............................. :iamwith: .............................. Funny.. I went on a visit to many peoples minds and all I got was crabs (bichy people that can't seem to open their ears and minds for a few moments) Now... if you'd said.. you have their cd and in small doses its ok, or perhaps said the quality overall is just above mildly irritating... then I'd have no problem with bitches and gripes.. *I* own two albums they produced and think for their time they were transitional and melded a bit of two different musical styles.. I did find that after repeated listens the music didn't seem to stand up well, but after some time has passed (probably in the range of 5 to 8 years) I find it suits the musical mix here on Radioparadise quite well, and was welcomed.. but then again like holes, that's my opinion, and I've got both.
uh...errr....ummm....well I'm tempted not to identify myself as something of a Deep Forest fan with this number playing. I've heretofor been spared(or perhaps,on second thought this is why I didn't buy one of their CDs). Quite embarrassingly bad. Bill's taste generally seems to screen out the worst examples of eclectic excess. Wonder what happened here.
Man... We were having a good set and then this crap. Bill why must you hurt the ones who love you?

I could do without the yelping too. Sounds like the guy just hurt himself or something.

It's not so great in the afternoon either. Hey look, he's banging his head to the beat!
This song kicks , plain and simple! :p Love that Mediterranean/Eastern European feel.
Great music for stretching, yoga. I guess you could dance to it too. ;)
This is WILD. I LOVE it!!
far out.... :D love this diversity... keep it up.
Very cool.
Not my cup o\' tea. Maybe it\'s just too early in the morning. The music sounds OK, but that guy\'s voice is too annoying right now.
