She is dreaming at work today
That she's from Paris
Walks with a bright bouquet
And her fake accent co-workers laugh
She forgives her customers
All on their behalf

They don't know
What she could see
The kids don't go
To aisle three

She sees

Saints who say she is the only one
She can dream anything under the sun
And no one ever could take away
This All Saints' Day

She learns French from
Cassettes at night
Landlady saves her
Labels from her French whites

Small Eiffel Tower
Glued to her cash
She won't take lunch breaks
She's gone within a flash

They don't know
What she could see
The kids don't go
To aisle three

She sees

Saints who say she is the only one
She can dream anything under the sun
And no one ever could take away
This All Saints' Day

No one knows
What she could see
The kids don't go
To aisle three

She sees

Saints who say she is the only one
She can dream anything under the sun
And no one ever could take away
And no one ever could take away
This All Saints' Day

She is dreaming in French today

Where's stochastic material when you really need it?
This is actually one of the lesser cuts on this album!  "Here Nor There", "Wedding Song" or "Everest" are good.  "21 Steps" is genuinely lovely.  If this track catches your ear, please do yourself a favor and look this album up on Spotify.  That link is available here!
yup, good call jackie0    (eye-yi yi that cover photo is of a scary flower delivery-boy)
Just another whiny white boy to my ears.
Yawn.
Wow, haven't heard this in a while... I've been around RP so long now I'm starting to get 'nostala' moments from stuff I first heard here... I think this was one of the first totally new discoveries I made when I first discovered this site oh-so-long ago.
Totally Ho-Hum

I'll throw in that I hear Ray Davies. (But I hear a lot of voices.) Anyone else?

Funny, I thought he sounded like Thom Yorke - that whiny high-pitched weak warble is just so Radiohead.

I love the sound of the song; I love the tried and true formula of the song....but I have absolutely no respect for artists that make a living imitating someone else. A really good vocalist would try to find his own voice rather than exploit the money and fame to be found sounding like a superstar. Its even shadier than being an Elvis impersonator. At least we know Elvis's songlist; with this guy, the casual listener might actually believe he is listening to some obscure Bono recording. I HATE being duped! Though...at least the song was decent. Reminds me of Celine becoming a superstar totally imitating Barbra.
Wow. That's a lot of anger. Maybe this IS his true voice, and he just happens to sound like Bono (to you). I bought this album a few years ago when I happened upon it in a store. I immediately recognized Andy's name, as I am familiar with Ani Difranco's bandmates' names. Gave it a listen at the in-store station, and was surprised at how different it was from Ani's stuff. Was intrigued enough to buy it, and like the album very much in its own right. Glad to hear a track here, which reminds me to go listen to the whole album again.
thanx bill!

The similarity of this artist's vocals to Bono's is uncanny.
I know. I was listening to it and thought, "Is this some weird U2 song I've never heard before?"

To me, he sounds like a slightly higher pitched Petty with tremolo.

Is this by any chance the Andy Stochansky that played with Ani DiFranco? I thought there was an Andy Stochansky that was the drummer for Ani?
check the wiki entry, it lists him as the same guy.
Ahhhhhhhh! Its the lost Galligher brother. Look at him---listen---look at the brows. He just killed his mam and stole her plant Aaagh

Hey what ever happened to 54-40? Are they still recording? I thought one day they might break into the lower 48.

And Anne Murray....

Yeah, they've almost made up for Celine Dion and Bryan Adams :)
if you like andy, try the song \"superman\"
Yep. Too bad I hate Bono/U2 these days. Sucko-Barfo.

A pity, his influences "interfere" that much, while he can't stand the comparison (yet?) with U2 ('One'), Radiohead and (even) the Beatles. But it's got the right sound (good production!) and I'm curious what he will sound like after he has found a style/voice that's more his own.

His name is Andy Stochansky
This guy\'s voice is really starting to grate on me.
For RP listeners in Los Angeles... Andy will be performing on Friday, Feb. 28th at the Knitting Factory in the Alterknit Lounge.
Ani and he were better together than single. :(
I agree with the other comment I saw below. It sounded like Bono at first, but with slightly less angst.
Andyy Stochansky, Neil Finn, and Josh Ritter have all taken top seats on my \"must buy\" list of new music, thanks entirely to RP airplay.

Oh... I liked that.... More please

I thought first it was Hawksley Workman. But it is Andy, also from Toronto.
