Have you seen enough?
Then go and see
Have you seen enough?
You might as well
Leave the sun, it's dreary face
Leave me something in your place

And so it was you, lying down
This close to me, turning your back
And all it would take, for you to be free,
Was never enough, but too much for me

I love you
With my skin and teeth
I love you
Skin and teeth

I know what to do, I'll show you know
I know better than you, but it won't help me
My hair will grow back, intermittently
And my clothes will dry like blood on my teeth

I love you
With my skin and teeth
I love you
Skin and teeth
Skin and teeth
Skin and teeth

Excellent!
Enjoying this, although I'm not sure I've heard it outside of album context.  And what an amazing several album run this was for Joe.
Interesting music, in places.  Less sure about the lyrics.
Is anyone else hearing The Gogos in the bass line at the beginning? "Can you hear them? They talk about us, tellin' lies..."
Growing on me. 'Ey , any guy wearin' a monkey can't be all 'at bad. I give it a 7.

Very nice segue from Roxy Music's "Avalon" into this!
Yep. Not sure about this song yet, but they go well together.
Could not rate this very highly--repetitious passages, and vocal too strained and ragged. Sometimes ragged is appealing, but not in this case. Also, ragged voice does not go well with mellow music. Part of it says "Be irritated" and part says "Fall asleep." What an inconsistent drag. #-o :-k
I've only heard this track, but all I could think was Tom Petty.
one of these days i'm definitely going to have to pick up one of his albums.
hummmmm wonder if he will do a Vincent van Gogh ? :yuck
Very nice segue from Roxy Music's "Avalon" into this!
It's been great seeing/hearing Joe Henry's evolution from the country rock of "Murder of Crows" to his more recent eclecticism... cool grooves on later disks. Skin and Teeth is a bit tame, but catchy.
Hey, watch it - NO TEETH!
I don't understand the low ratings for this song! I think it's amazing, and I'm usually able to hear why people would hate something even if I love it... This is one of the best songs from a truly great album. I like Joe Henry, but I don't know if he'll ever be able to top this... And to follow Roxy Music's "Avalon" with this.... Gorgeous.

Extreme love song? Love bordering on violent but complete and dangerous. Are you looking for deeper meaning?
