We want to multiply, are you gonna do it
I know you're qualified, are you gonna do it
Don't be so circumscribed, are you gonna do it
Just get yourself untied, are you gonna do it
Feel the heat pushing you to decide
Feel the heat, burning you up, ready or not
Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on
Some feel the heat and decide that they can't go on
Some like it hot, but you can't tell how hot til you try
Some like it hot, so let's turn up the heat til we fry
The girl is at your side, are you gonna do it
She wants to be your bride, are you gonna do it
She wants to multiply, are you gonna do it
I know you won't be satisfied until you do it
Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on
Some feel the heat and decide that they can't go on
Some like it hot, but you can't tell how hot til you try
Some like it hot, so let's turn up the heat til we fry
Feel the heat pushing you to decide
Feel the heat, burning you up, ready or not
Some like it hot and some sweat when the heat is on
Some feel the heat and decide that they can't go on
Some like it hot, but you can't tell how hot til you try
Some like it hot, so let's turn up the heat til we fry
Some like it hot, some like it hot
Some like it hot, some like it hot
Some like it hot, some like it hot
Some like it hot...some like it hot.

the only thing i like about this song is the daffy duck... "WOOO HOOO'" almost at the end.
Wow, an old chestnut. Oh and look - it's old.
Didn't age well.
Still enjoy it. Nay to the myopics on 80s tunes.

If you're going to play Robert Palmer, how 'bout soemthing that doesn't suck, like Sailing Shoes/Hey Hey Julia/Sneaking Sally Through the Alley with accompaniment by members of Little Feat.
History will show that both songs are classics. Just because this was a song from the 80s doesn't mean it is junk.
entirely unnecessary
booooo

Robert Palmer, Nile Rodgers, Andy and John Taylor = The Powerstation
Actually, as noted earlier, it's Robert Palmer, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, and Tony Thompson (formerly, of Chic, which might explain how he got involved). Nile Rodgers produced it, I believe.

Add Warren Zevon, John Ritter and Johnny Cash to the list, and this has not been a good month at all. I am feeling very old, as well.
...and most recently, Keith Richards, he......oh. Never mind....
Whoa, some things should stay in the past. Blech. :x

Back when they actually played music videos! (what a concept!)

Also, you can't really call it a Robert Palmer song because when the band Powerstation finally did a tour to support their album, Palmer was busy recording his solo album and Michael DeBarres (sp?) fronted the band for the tour.

I hate to split hairs BUT THIS IS NOT ROBERT PALMER This is POWERSTATION!! RObert Palmer was the lead singer for Powerstation And a mighty fine song it is, with great guitar by Andy Taylor, and fabulous bass by John Taylor.
john taylor is soooo hot.... (still laughing maniacally)

hahahahahaaah hahah aaaa haaaaaaa.....
How about something off of Pride or Clues? Most folks have probably never heard either of them, but they were pretty progressive and experimental in their day, when tecno was new, and he was blending it with island sounds. What a tragic loss for all of us baby boomers, as well as those who may only now discover him...there is a lot more there besides Addicted to Love. : :(

Just heard Robert Palmer died last night of a heart attack. Sorry to hear that. Now I hear George Plimpton has passed as well (in know that's not music news but i did grow up reading his books and articles) *whew* So many artists I grew up listening to and reading about are now gone... I am feeling old.

I definitely did NOT expect to hear this on RP. Thanks for takin' me back! *edit* - I had no clue he died today. Sorry if this seemed insensitive. RIP.
What a shame to lose anyone at such a young age. I may not have appreciated his music, but his accomplishments are worthy of respect.
I guess we will be hearing a lot of Robert Palmer today. And I think that is good. It is good to remember someone. To walk down memory lane. Smile at what an artist has left behind and the memories their music conjures up.
RIP Robert Palmer...he will probably better remembered for the high quality of his video clips than his music...
Power Station had those big drums. Was it Tony Thompson?

Yeah, I know. But it's most readily available these days on Palmer's compilation CD (which is where we got it). I'll try to give due props to the Duranies whenever possible. :-)
Man I love this song.....kick butt rockin\'! Those Taylor guys are very talented, don\'t discount them. The music writing on the first 3 Duran Duran albums are very good.

The movie is awesome, the song sucks.
Andy Taylor, and my husband since I was about 12, John Taylor. Also, you can't really call it a Robert Palmer song because when the band Powerstation finally did a tour to support their album, Palmer was busy recording his solo album and Michael DeBarres (sp?) fronted the band for the tour.

I thought the Power Station was a pretty cool project - the album wasn\'t too bad. Worth an occassional spin...
