Thought I should share this which I found in his bio at his website yesterday. Note that "Luka" was born Kevin Barry Moore, and started his career as Barry Moore.
"Barry was a finger picking folkie, until the middle of 1979, when tendonitis did serious damage to his picking hand. This caused him to learn to play with a plectrum and change his style of playing."Yyyyyyaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn

I've noticed the same phenomenon with Luka's music. When I first heard his music on RP (a few weeks ago), I was mostly impressed with the guitar sound, although the overall package was nice. Now, after hearing several songs in fairly regular rotation here on RP, they are all blending together, and none of them stand out in particular.
Luka Bloom\'s brother Christy Moore is an amazing artist too if you\'re into Irish folk.. Similar voice, different music.

I'm looking for the perfect groove
I'm getting ready to move
So much rhythm to choose
I want to sing for you
I'm looking for the perfect tune
So perfect I could swoon
Dance like honeymoon
I want to sing for you
I love it when different people
Come and gather around
They dip into a different world
There's a singer in town
I love to see the bodies swaying
Hips shifting along
Together we'll find the rhythm
Get into the song
The night could be long
I'm looking for the perfect food
Not undercooked or stewed
A tasty little mood
I want to sing for you
I'm looking for the perfect you
And a love that's simple and true
It's what I'm ready to do
I want to sing for you
