The lights in all the cities have now gone
Restless hearts and minds are moving on
Baby take the best escape for all
Don't know if I'm coming back for more

Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend

Got to feel inside the orange sun
No hold on the borders till it's fun.
Race to please you if you start to roll,
Vanity and time will rape my soul.

Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend

Burning up again
I found my only friend
Burning up again
I found my only friend

I hope you are all right these days....Where are you?
love this track. From a time in my life when I was experiencing radical change. But tell me, the album cover, is that the view out of the back of a speeder on Hoth?
.This is another classic RP like for me. I was never familiar with them before they started in rotation and now I find out that I really dig them. An easy 7.
I was first turned on to RP in 2003 and clearly recall this track in heavy rotation back then along with Neko Case, Gomez and of course Porcupine Tree. I still tune in and still contribute $ to RP.

I wonder if this band made my boots. They are quality just like their music.

<chuckle> I have an Excel spreadsheet list of RP-inspired songs that I've been collecting since around 2004-05. Almost 900 entries, and I estimate that ~80% of those songs ... more than likely, I never would have learned about them otherwise.

It's hard to underestimate the the impact that RP has had on my music "awareness" and appreciation (and life in general).

Bill and Rebecca - literally and figuratively, you two rock!

It's great just sitting and listening your RP this damn hot day in Kyiv, thank you!

Ok, John....I'm jealous!! I'm sure the lager would be good, also!! On E. coast, these uptight politicos just recently passed med. use of aforementioned herb! CO/CA or bust!! Tired of this uptight culture here in CT!! Burn 1 for me!! ✌️

WA has the green goods too...heck Canada is even better in a way from what I've heard....which is why we're fond of the "the West is the Best" mantra (also sung by Jim M with the "I am the Lizard King, I can do anything" line so you know I like it.

Psilocybin is coming next though seems like the corporatists have their eyes set on shrooms even sooner than they did with MJ...oh well....it's progress in the right direction.

"Vanity and time will rape my soul" - wow, that is a powerful lyric!
Porcupine Tree rip-off!
That logo on the cover is sooooooo late 90s/early aughts. This track on the other hand  transcends its time and is still good.

Love me some didgeridoo. Even if it’s synthesized.

We are still burning up on the left coast, with BC & WA wildfires and CA heatwave, this tune seems truly apropos. Merci, la.
With some German lager in me and a bowl of Coal Creek Kush, this is SPECTACULARLY HYPNOTIC and I like it a lot. TRIPPY song!
Burning Up at the Burning Man? Too bad they burned the whole thing down. An EDM sh*tshow
Sounded like a not unpleasant Damon Albarn musical cul-de-sac.
{#Crown}
Sounded very much like The Mutton Birds/Don McGlashan.  I like!
Hey! A guitar lick I can actually play!

groo-groo-groo groovee! {#Dancingbanana_2}
Hmmm have not heard much from these guys in a while and this is the 2nd tune today from the same album.
Up there with other 70s and 80s future distopian synth pop like "I lost my heart to a starship trouper"   an 8
I'm sure this is not good for my ears but every time I hear this come on while at work with my earbuds in, I turn it up ... a lot. {#Eh}

That's a funny song to think of; I haven't heard that tune in a long time.  However, some of those keyboard flourishes do sound reminiscent of that song.

I mean this in a good way--it's fresh in a 1982 vein.  This most excellent track recalls the synth-and-vocals music of that period.

Wonderful.

Isn't the vocalist on this song the same that sings in Syntax?

Very alike anyway.

I just changed my rating from 9 to 10. Bought the MP3 on Amazon and now I'm listening to it on repeat mode without getting bored. Reminds me of mysterious feelings I could never explain in my childhood.
I am really liking this song. I'll have to try it with the headphones. Sounds like it would be way cool like that.
I really love this song...a lot. And it's even better in headphones.
Always a fan of chords changing over a non changing sequence of bass notes. Need to rate this from 6 to 7.
Step Out of the Car/Burning Up segue – 10!
This is a well crafted song.

There is a remarkable lack of negitive comments on this song.  I figured at at least someone would come on here and trash it.
like (thats me being effusive)

This slithery track, "Snow Patrol," and "Hotel Parallel" are very hip and hypno-tech atmospheric, and "Carbon Kid" just jams way beyond belief (with Brian Molko from Placebo doing some absolutely screaming vokes!)...  Always loved this, and thanks to RP for turning me onto it!

I'm hearing some Bowie in the vocal track.  Layered on top of a simple yet effective beat and musical effects, it makes a really good song.

8/10 Edit:

Ok, it isn't a complicated song really, but I love it.  It's catchy without being overly poppish, has just enough going on in it to give it some depth, and simple enough that I don't have to steep (like the world's nastiest tea bag) in it before understanding it.

It burns! {#Yes}
As a bass player I'm instantly hooked on this !
Never had a chance to listen to this at a pretty good cranked-up level before. Even trippier thataway. I like it.

Love this song.  Hear it on Sirius Chill while vacationing in Vancouver, so this song always reminds me of riding through the mountains.  Another amazing find by Bill.  I also like Hotel Parallel, which is also played here.

purchased this album on an impulse - pretty satisfying trippy stuff - "hotel parallel" is another great track
up to 8. dig it
yay!
Love it love it! Going to Itunes right now and buying this one!
Dude. This is surprisingly fun and delicious. Worth a look at the album.

Reaction to global warming? This tune's been playing on RP longer than anything from the others, and it's still excellent and welcome.

Apparently, one of the members of the band named themselves "Alpinestars" after the name of his mountain bike. Pretty bizarre but a cool name nonetheless (no pun intended)!

Kinda creeps up and grabs ya, for better or worse. I'm hearing a hint of Bowie in there.

Solid tune, do I hear a hint of New Order influence?
This is an excellent noise
Sure do hear some sounds from Alanis Morissette 90s stuff. I know this will not be a popular comment, but listen carefully. I first heard some of that on Crooked Little Pill.

muy bueno
