Coldplay — See You Soon
So you lost your trust
And you never should have
And you never should have
But don't break your back
If you ever see this,
Don't answer that.
In a bullet-proof vest
With the windows all closed
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.
In a telescope lens
And when all you want is friends
I'll see you soon.
So they came for you
They came snapping at your heels
They come snapping at your heels
But don't break your back
If you ever say this,
But don't answer that.
In a bullet-proof vest
With the windows all closed
I'll be doing my best
I'll see you soon.
In a telescope lens
And when all you want is friends
I'll see you soon
I'll see you soon.
I know, you lost your trust,
I know, you lost your trust,
I know, don't lose your trust,
I know, you lost your trust.
And you never should have
And you never should have
But don't break your back

Instead of putting it down the drain i suggest using this cocktail as an anti-hangover. Works great.
Can I put Coldplay and Crowded House in a blender and the pour it down the drain? Please

Not that I would buy this shit, but helping you out with a question doesn't hurt.

The next comment from mikedill: "my favourite coldplay song"
Hmmmm - just a coincidence or a good answer.
haven't heard this one before . . . awesome lyrics.
my favorite coldplay song

When listening at home, I often set my mute-filter off, so I can check if my ratings are correct, and - sorry to say - most of the times I just recognize the band in play, and that triggers a like or dislike, enough to verify my rating. Some go up, some go down - sometimes.
The Afro Celt Sound System is the funniest group. My ratings vary from 1 to 9, which will cause them not to be put in the mute list.
What's a mute-filter?

Better yet...Chris Martin and Dave Matthews hold hands and jump headlong into a wood chipper.

Wow! Just...WOW! Not even CLOSE!

seriously. can someone prove to me that this is in fact coldplay and not dave matthews? because i refuse to believe it otherwise.

Don't care what people think has happened or what will happen to this band, because i love this song. This version is amazing.
A great tune by a super band.
I don't normally like Coldplay, but this song is great.
Thought this was Nick Drake till I checked the playlist.
Yeah, that was the time they made better music... from my point of you... Listen to "Careful Where You Stand" (and of course Shiver, Troubles...) and you'll understand we missed a great great band.
At this time, Philip Harvey was quite a friend... he is not anymore.
THX RP for this tune, again!
This is making me feel all emotional. Much as I don't fall for the anti Coldplay backlash nonsense, I wish they could make this simple straight to the heart music again soon.
P.S. How about a glass rating for how drunk you think you are when you post. 1 to 5 should do.
8O
Bugger, no cocktail glasses among the emoticons...

Same here. Believe it or not, this was my first Coldplay song to here, this and "For You." I just went to Napster and downloaded the first two cuts I could find, and I loved them deeply. No more goodies like these in the foreseeable future...

... but soon discovered it wasn't him when you weren't blown away by guitar skills. Of course, this song too is in an alternate tuning, much like a lot of Nick's songs.

Mm, Lexica also gave a high rating to Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees, why not mention that? It seems, once you dislike a band, you rate them low, no matter what. I must admit I can sometimes envy that sort of clarity and also find it amusing, but it isn't exactly fair.

Don't question her taste. Her taste is probably fine (since she doesn't like this, and her bottom rates include Radiohead, Coldplay and Starsailor).
It's her taste that causes her to post a fair comment. It's not up to you to question someone's taste!

Good point....I mean C'mon...Nice Dream (Radiohead) rated a 1...she can dislike Radiohead, but a 1?
My concern is that she's rated 3 of my uploads 8 or above....Hmmmmm?

Amen, freedom of choice!

I usually hate Coldplay, but what a great song!
OK, never, NEVER heard this before. Let alone on RP. CP reigns. A 9.
(they reign in the land of 9's)
The first time I heard this on radio paradise I immediately had to learn how to play it. To me, one of best songs by Coldplay. Every time I hear it I wish that I had my guitar with me and as good of a voice as he has.

This is not new at all. This song is as old as the band. Way before Parachutes.
Mind you, it's so intimate it's beautiful. I'd bet 10 bucks the band doesn't do anything stripped down like this ever again, now they've got the "U2 Wannabe" model to live up to.
I really think they'll do whatever they want to do. They don't strike me as the type of guys to give into the pressure of having to live up to a "U2 Wannabe" model.

Wow, dude sounds a lot like Dave Matthews on this track. (That's a compliment coming from me. :) )
Simple and sparse. Nice to hear unpretentious material from Coldplay.
I must admit I'm slowly resisting the urge not to like ColdPlay
These are some more pre Parachutes tracks from their EPs:
Bigger, Stronger
No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground
Such A Rush
Brothers & Sisters
Easy To Please
Only Superstition
See You Soon
For You
Careful Where You Stand
I have to admit that I loved Parachutes, but then once they became an IT band, I grew tired of hearing them everywhere I went. This track is great though. Musically it makes sense that it came before Parachutes. I agree that we probably won't hear more stripped down music from them anymore.
That said, this is a beautiful tune.
