I can't see me in this empty place
Just another lonely face
I can't see me here in outer space
It's so hard to leave a trace
And I try and I try and I try
But it never comes out right
Yes, I try and I try and I try
But I never get it right
It's a
Minor earth, major sky
Minor earth, major sky
I can't see me in this lonely town
Not a friendly face around
Can you hear me when I speak out loud
Hear my voice above the crowd
And I try and I try and I try
But it never comes out right
Yes, I try and I try and I try
But I never get it right
It's a
Minor earth, major sky

Every time I hear this, I really appreciate the Fixx-like atmosphere they create and inhabit on this cool, trippy song. For me, their earlier pop phase doesn't detract at all. They are great musicians!
From a very good band that got the "Take on Me" label...they have a great catalog of music (for anyone in an exploring mood). This single was nearly 20 years into their career and showed their style shifting with age. Not even the traditional Alt Rock stations played it much. Good one RP.
Probably not the first time Bill's used this segue, but at the end of the song I was singing along Minor Earth, Major Tom, and then guess what Bill played next! :P
I guess it's not that crazy of a coincidence but it really made me smile.

I love you, Radio Paradise.
You and me both!
I haven't heard any "new" material from this group in decades. It's interesting to hear their evolution (even if I don't find it to be particularly lyrically complex).
It reminds me of some of the more recent Duran Duran I've heard over the last (I think) ten years.

Perhaps their most grown-up album...
BAD!
Wanna laugh - scroll!
Love this!!!! Thanks Bill for playing something new-ish from a band I loved back in the 80's but had sadly forgotten after that, never knowing they had done anything more....
I'm not sure I've ever knowingly heard A-Ha - not because I'm not old enough, either. Whatever, I like this quite a bit. I'll put it at a '7' since it's a first listening but wouldn't be at all surprised if further listenings would 'force' me to bump it to an '8' or higher.
I love you, Radio Paradise.

Wow ... A-Ha?! Good stuff
Something cool happening in this tune ... not for purchase, but I certainly enjoyed the listen. Good groove.
Nice! It grows.... a solid SEVEN
The entire album is very good.
A-Ha? Uh-huh.
Love the music. Love those cheekbones.
Perfect song to daydream by......
this song gets minor points and major annoyance.
Liking it!

Am I the only one hearing Porcupine Tree here?
Got to admit I was gobsmacked to see it was A-Ha...
Maybe; Up the Downstairs era?
I was pretty shocked myself. My estimation of this band just went up a notch.

I thought this was Carly Simon before I checked. Interesting song and one I haven't heard before. See what happens when you have one hit song?

I like almost every song from a-ha! Great Band, this eighties song "Take on me" was just the beginning
I didn't know I could give such a good rating to an A-Ha song...

8 -> 9
I really suggest you to discover this GREAT band

I love you Radio Paradise!! You have now fulfilled ny every musical wish. Such an underated band old A-ha - their newer stuff is really good - AND they'e still Norway's number 1 band! :)
No way Norway - thought they were long gone composted away from under the trash heap of 80's new wave. Good to hear and the album cover is pretty cool too.
I see where VAST gets inspiration.
I've always loved his voice...
Nice! Love the bass work.
This gets better with time...
Never thought I would ever say I liked an A-Ha song but this does something way down in me bowels...

One song, four words. over and overandover.
The sound isn't bad, but I just can't get past the repetition. At least it's not 'Do the Hustle' (hey! that's only three words!)
I think we must be listening to different songs.

I wouldn't have thought on Earth that A-Ha will be played on RP. Nice surpris, not the best song though.

what about playing something of "analogue"?
What would you like to hear? I have all of their CD's and would be happy to upload whatever song(s) you like. I was thinking of uploading something off their Memorial Beach album as well.
I appreciate this album when it came out in 2000!... I love morten's voice...for me one of the best ever... Bill, what about playing something of "analogue"?

This is some nice electronica. I'm liking this, and the new Muse album.
Maybe. With the mute button on.

Reminds me of Ian Brown.

there should be more from their latest album analogue in the playlist. That's really great stuff.
Like it. Made me look.

I'm witholding comment except to say that 1) it caught my attention and 2) I did crank it up.
Love the ending vocals.
A 9 for creativity.
Gordon Bennett! It sounds terrific, then I saw it was by Ah-Ha and I nearly fell off my chair. They've certainly improved a bit since their cheesy hits of the 80s, though they still have a bit of a Europop tinge. Nice track, though I don't think I could bear the stigma of having an Ah-Ha album in my collection :(
wow. also have to say i am surprised to find A-Ha, this is quite a nice song!
Same group as the "Take On Me" early-days MTV video stuff?!?!

If only it was the Smiths or something...you know - something you could get away with.....I really couldn't bring myself to wind the windows down and crank A-HA........
Had to stop housework to see who this was. What a surprise to see A-Ha. I really like this song, it's quirky.

Yup, thanks to the uploader of this piece. I used to listen to this album few times in a row - maybe it's time to pop it once again into my CD set. Most excellent!
