Met on the shore on a rainy dawn in late November,
'Speak not a word,' was what you wrote to me.
Shoes soaked in sand and a heavy coat around your shoulder,
Bird in a hand was what you gave to me.
You stood so strong and the waves beyond were rollin' over,
Pullin' me close like the moon pulls on the sea.
I wanna ride on a road that turns a thousand corners --
Two beams of light, one for you and me.
House in the hills and inside the sound of nervous laughter,
A bed of white unmade by you and me.
Your body of stone that I touch until it turns to water
Was revealed to me.
I long to touch your tender skin of alabaster --
Shoulders as white as the peaks beyond the sea.
Arms in your arms and soon the room is spinning faster,
Eyes in your eyes are the only thing I see.
Love you so much so the only thing that you'll remember
Is what it's like to be in love with me.

very. very. nice.
Music: Would be OK at 1.7x the speed.
Singing: Voice bores into ears. In a bad way.
I really like the song, but I think she needs to fire her band, they really aren't very good.

When does the extended guitar solo start?
Do like this though.

great middle of the night song...
Yes, especially if you're fast asleep.

I LIKE IT, okay? I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!
This reminds me of a Pat Metheny/Charlie Haden tune called "Spiritual" off of Beyond the Missouri Sky. Written by Josh Haden.
Awsome lyrics, and a great voice with lots of heart and feeling! Realy enjoying this!
great middle of the night song...good voice, soothing
very, very, very boring...
A little bombastic for my usual groove, but after the third listen, yeah, I like it.

So true, very nice voice
I find her voice makes me rush to turn down the volume !
My baby's gooonnnn with the wind.
Why did she change the lyrics? The old ones were perfectly fine.

Absolutely. Same exact tune.

I was only half listening with the volume way down and thought that it was a remake of Tuesday's Gone.
Lovely song. This woman sure does have a great voice.
Well! What a nice surprise...I saw this chick play about a year ago, and really enjoyed the show. I didn't go out specifically to see her, she just happened to be the one on stage when I got there...I had never heard of her...and WOW! She was great. I kinda forgot all about her, though...Glad I heard this here...I was too poor that night to buy a CD.
I remember that in person she has a really really BIG voice. I mean almost Neko Case big. You know, just a BIG FULL voice. Good Show.
sad, almost troubling, moving.. I like it.
sounds a little like casey chambers singing. not quite as squeaky...

Yep, came to the comments just to see if anyone else thought so. Even the guitar interlude is reminiscient. At the risk of starting a flame war, this is much better, but still a rip.

Like a country-blues rendition of Pachelbel's "Canon in D"
Pretty cool.
"...oh, won't you cry for me?" a 7.

Also saw her live and concur. A fantastic voice that needs a wider audience.
(which of course is why I uploaded the song :-)
This is quite OK...boringly recorded, and an OK song...hah.
