I need you more than you can know
And if I hurt myself it's just for show
I found a better way to curb the pain
You put a trigger here inside my brain

Mother I need her
I'm falling apart
Mother I need her
And it's only the start

I may be nothing now but I will rise
I'll have more followers than Jesus Christ

Mother I need her
I'm falling apart
Mother I need her
And it's only the start

Through all the smashing things and crashing cars
I love the ground you walk with all my heart

Mother I need her
I'm falling apart
Mother I need her
And it's only the start

Mother I need her

For fans of Don't hate me on this CD, listen to the version on 4 1/2 with Ninet Tayeb.  Stellar.
Bought the re-release of this album a while ago. My only disappointment was that they changed the album cover, I find the old one cooler… So there you have it, I did find one thing to complain about! Phew.
Hi ya Deadwing!

So the lyrics....  Are they about rock stars with dangerous substance dependencies?

Chris Maitland played drums in this CD.  Gavin Harrison would not show up until In Absentia.

As a drummer, I'd say the toms are tuned too high and the snare is too loud in the mix for my likes. Otherwise yes, Harrison is an excellent drummer.

Mr Edwin is brilliant... in fact they're all brilliant & GH is one of the best!!!

Love it!

Hey horstmann!  How goes?

Yet another PT purchase?    OK.  I'm game.

What a song. What a set!    10^3 thanks!
Thank you Bill for adding this to the rotation. It is truly a great song.

For those of you who really love PT, I suggest buying Insurgentes, the DVD. It is a story of the making of the album but more is a story of Steven Wilson as an artist. It goes through his childhood, we meet his parents, and friends. It also speaks of his artistry and how he is not a sell out making music for money - he makes his music as an extension of his self.

It's really good.

Mother I need her!
Love this band.  SW continues to amaze me with the quality of his songwriting, production, the amount of music he releases, and his overall class.
I give this an eight, though Wilsons singing really brings it down. Were it not for the vocal track, I'd give it a 9 or 10.

a 1 really? come on...can't we disqualify some people from voting? :)

Simply an amazing song!  Thanks Bill!

This would really be a gem of an addition to the RP rotation. But ah well!  /swoons in disappointment...

But I will rise
I'll have more followers
Than Jesus Christ.

As I figure it SW already does have more followers than Jesus Christ.

Back in the day Jesus probably had somewhere between 400-500 smelly palm branch waving hippies following him around.

Wilson can easliy top that now       hehe      {#Guitarist}

Just wait til he's dead, Deadwing. Then his popularity should really spike! If history is any indicator.

But wait, we'll most likely be dead too.

This would really be a gem of an addition to the RP rotation. But ah well!  /swoons in disappointment...

This song has such an infectious groove at the end, I wish Bill would give it a spin...
Pretty high rating for a song that's never been played. Here. Hear.
The song says "PLAY ME"! How 'bout it, Bill? ;o)
