Nope. Garbage is a far better band.

They need a dual instrument mode, so you can sing while doing one of the other instruments w/o worrying about the 'cowbell'...
Apparently you can do this by just popping a P into the microphone.

All the kiddies love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But, speaking as Old Grampa: I sure do like this song. Hey! You kids turn that crap...UP!

Screechy, tedious, repetitive noise.

10 - this is a no-brainer.
June 2nd in Saint Louis!
This reminds me of my friend Bill Larsen....
This is the first time I've heard this where it wasn't performed at some karaoke place. I dig this.

I don't care, I love this one; and when I get my copy of Rock Band next week I'll be singing this with much enthusiasm.

the beginning of this song sounds a lot like the beginning to "wire" by U2, the jangling guitar part.
The music is blah, but judging by the SnappRadio images coming through their live show would be intersting to say the least... They must have some rather exciting drugs with them, that I would not touch for fear of wearing those outfits
When I want to drive my wife mad, I sing this one to her..The sound of the repeated wait-wait "they don't love you like I love you" can make anyone scream STOP
tonight went from a 3 to a 5...state of mind counts I guess..

Dear God, will the pounding ever stop? It\'s like being poked with an ice pick!
Bill, you paying attention to the Paul Kelly - Won't You Come Around? thread.

Play these two back to back sometime.
I'm only giving this a four because the piercing high-end guitar notes are just too shrill and irritating. I'm all for LOUD guitar that PIERCES the night, but these gals just turned the obnoxious-quotient on high. With some better EQ in the mix, I might like it.
"Gold Lion" and "Phenomenon" are two other good songs well worthy of a RP playlist.
How do we Upload? Have these been Uploaded before? Wha is required for a song to be played?

Why is there only one Yeah Yeah Yeah song on RP? Were there others that were rejected? I only know this one song by them so I'm curious to know about the quality of their other songs. What other song(s) should be played as well?
"Phenomena" off of their new album, Show Your Bones, is incredible. Most of the rest of their songs are harder and edgier than this one. I love "Maps" though. It's haunting and gorgeous. But yeah, "Phenomena" is completely fantastic. That whole album is really rockin'.
Yawn Yawn Yawns
If this is the song with the endless repetition of "They don' love you lak Ah love you," it would be OK except for the female vocalist's grating and unmelodious "singing" and the repetitiveness.
Those background instruments are well played!
What an overhyped band and how disappointing.

I agree with the Crissie comments except I've yet to hear anyone touch Chrissie's incredibly pure and sweet vibrato from the Gods.

Not the best song on the album, but I like it. Oh, ant the YYY's are great live.
I agree, they're outrageous live. Way skreechier than this - this tune doesn't represent how truly punk they are.
I think this would segue very nicely into the Talking Heads Once in a Lifetime

I thought I heard a little banshee wail there too.
and perhaps a little of Hynde's voice.
Very nice. Lovely to hear the kids doing something that rocks so hard.

an 11! Amazing in concert. Karen O is absolutely amazing, and Brian is crazy on drums!
There is life in 'now music' of whatever genre. It's good to see someone plowing their own furrow!!!
Outstanding. And the album is one of those that really grows on you--gets better every listen.
Wait?
One of the best songs of the decade!
Can you say modest mouse?
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!
yeah yeah yeah....not 2 shabby eh?

My thoughts exactly. (Only spelled right.)
forgot about this one!! i just love this, thanks!
I just like this song...no analysis needed...
Not the best song on the album, but I like it. Oh, ant the YYY's are great live.

Seriously?
Karen O rocks my socks*
I like this band. Very interesting guitars.
Angloray wrote:
is this the best track on the album?
Unfortunately yes. But there are other good songs, just none as good as this one. The others are a little more self-indulgent and repititive. "Rich" is a good song, pretty harsh satire. And they are good live, lots of energy, but I look forward to a new record and to see how they develop.
I was expecting Status Quo doing Pictures of Matchstick Men with those opening bars. :-k
Angloray wrote:

I hope not.
Yay. This song again. Nothing like hearing a song so many times it makes you cringe.
yESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
is this the best track on the album?

This is a great song. The whole album is excellent as well, but this song is the only one that can bring tears to your eyes, IMHO.

I realy like this voice, but the guitars are bad. Real bad. They remind me of other real bad stuff I don't want to hear.

seriously though, good stuff, I am not that fam with them. I'd listen to more.
This song rocks. There are a few other good songs on the CD as well. Some are pretty bad, too. Interesting stuff.
Didn't Robert Smith play with Siouxsie & the Banshees before?
i've loved this song for over a year. happy to hear it on RP.
